ksc g18c mag issues??
ok so my g18c's standard mag is not working properly, ive lubed it, took it apart, and nothing is changing?? i just want to know the cause of the issue??
the issue: when i use the 49rnd long mag my g18 fires good and hard, full recoil, holds gas well annd can run all day with it! (minus the fact that i run out of bb's). but my standard mag is weak, it has a hard time getting full recoil and will not last a full mag worth of bb's with a full fill of propane. ps: my g18c will only fire in full auto, im not sure why, ill be asking about that at a later date.(nothing looks broken or even worn) the 49rnd mag is newer, the reg mag is stock. im not the first owner, but the origonal owner isnt sure either. |

Vent both mags and do a pressure test on the release valves. Are they both offering the same resistance?
Are you sure the STD mag is a KSC one and not a clone mag? |

well it has full glock trades, so i would guess it is not a clone mag.

KSC doesn't make mags that have Glock trademarks, so likely it's an aftermarket mag, or a KWA mag (or just the magplate from one).

the glock trades are on the back of the mag itself and the base plate.
if the mag is kwa or a clone, would that make a difference in performance, and how can i get it to perform better? |

Even the Chinese clones have Glock trades die stamp. What is a better clue if its a real KSC magazine is the finishing. Here is a 49 rounder that is compared between the two from my post on ASB. +++++++++ I know better, but I had to go and order 18 of these magazines. I got them very inexpensively. I randomly picked up one and they are mediocre at best. QC - What Quality Control? Files and Sharpies is how we will do QC! The picture says it all, cast marks, poorly machine/cast components. Which one is the KSC? The "Right" one. Which one is the KSC? The "Right" one. Which one is the KSC? The "Right" one. Negative Issues with the China Clone KSC Glock long mag: Seam lines - Magazine were cast quickly and poorly. There is no finishing other then the anodizing and a sharpie ink on parts they had to file after the anodizing. Poor Seals - Base plate leaked on the one I picked up, a minor hiss from the base plate seal. Water test showed a one bubble in ~2.5 second count. Feed spring is to long - Which prevents one from locking the follower down to load the bb's. You have to manually hold the follower down as you load the bb's. No o-ring on the fill valve - This is really not an issue with me...but some people maybe venting gas as they try and fill this mag with propane adapters. The base cap is made of a cheaper more brittle plastic. Magazine cool down - It will not empty the entire Magazine with consistent velocity. Last 10 shots are weak and velocity is down. Positives about the Clone magazine: It's cheap at 3/5 the price shipped of a KSC magazine. It fits in all the KSC Glocks. There you have it in a nutshell. Any questions or things you want me to inspect on the magazine? Of the 18 that I have, I have inspected 11 and 8 of them have leaks for finishing issues. ++++++++++++ As for the troubling magazine, did you do the pin valve test?
