Question Winding vs. Spring Loaded Mags

Just curious to see which one is the highly preferred one out there between all of you at the moment.

Currently I am looking to get some Spring Loaded Mags for my TM Ak47 just to save me time in game play, currently I use winding mags. I understand the winding ones hold more bb's but do you find there is a difference when using them in game compared to spring loaded mags?

I also stumbled across these new mags which I never seen, all you do is load the bb's and pull the cord 3 times to unload it all in one go:

"Winding mags" (aka hicaps) will send you in hell.

Hell is bad and not fun. Hell hurts.

Get lowcaps.

Hi-caps (winding ones) are generally for convenience and casual play. Mids and lows (spring loaded ones) are generally preferred because they offer more realism and actually force you to perform reloads.

In general, hi-caps are looked down upon because it makes players use their weapons like support guns, constantly unloading bbs by the hundreds when they see enemies even if their wielding an MP5 or an M16. Many people use 'real-caps' which mimic the real steel magazine capacity of a particular gun. It further enhances the realism by forcing you to not only conserve your shots, but also to ensure you have the ability to reload properly in the middle of a firefight (have a dump pouch, easily accessible spare magazines, perform a tactical reload by removing the spent magazine and inserting a fresh one in one swift motion and then dropping the spent one in your dump pouch).

I prefer Low to Midcap mags.

Hell, I have about 20 STAR '104' round magazines for my AK and all is good.

No rattling or magazine fondling. Though I do keep one highcap lingering about if its needed.

My gun came with a highcap. It's fun to just keeping shooting for a long time, but the BBs rattle inside, and the time you spend winding you could probably swap out with a new clip. I'm gonna be buying real/low cap clips when I can.

High caps are for while your waiting for your real/low/mids to arrive in the mail... or if you have to lend the gun out

I kind of figured that most of you would choose low to mid caps, just wanted to see if the opinions did vary though.

In that case where's the best place to buy them for my TM Ak47 (In Canada or the states)? If I bought a few from the states it shouldn't be a big deal right since it's an accessory?

but they are fun to shoot against.

1 you got running maracas; 2 you know they are winding by the lack of BB's coming at you and the zip zip sounds.

If they had 5-10 of those mags all loaded I don't think you would notice at all haha

Places like Redwolf, WCG, UNCompany, War4, Guns n Guys, etc.

As for brand, it's all generally preference but be aware that there are sometimes fitment and feeding issues with different brands of mags to different brands of guns. ie. My Magpul Green Label (STAR OEM) mags will feed in my M4 only if I hold the mag in a certain way in the magwell (either that or I add some bulk to the mag and put a few layers of tape to buffer it against the magwell).

I like the idea of the Beta Project mags which are slightly transparent so you can see how many BB's you have left. If you do decide that you like Magpul mags definitely don't get the Green Label ones if you have the extra cash. I only have them because they're cost effective but they come with issues such as feeding and fitment that I just accept and deal with because I got them so cheap.

Those magazines are ruining the game

They look next to identical to standard low caps and I've caught people sneaking them into games past the quick mag check

Low caps are the way to go.
