Already shared this on a few other threads. I have a real AK-47 (machined receiver) and I wanted an AK-74 to round out the collection. This is as close as I could get.
This was a WE PMC turned into a AK-74N. Weathered for realism. Pretty easy to put together. Got a Russian furniture set from the Ukraine. Turned out to be NOS so it all required fitting. Plus the WE doesn't use the same receiver plates on the buttstock end. Gas tube required machining. Fitting RS selector is a PITA, recommend AEG replacement. Rear sight from a real AK-74 was a drop-in affair. Real Steel Russian Parts: Buttstock Bakelite Grip Selector Rear Sight Upper handguard Lower Handguard Other parts: Guarder Flash Hider LCT V2009 Gas Tube (stamped and welded with retaining spring) Waiting on: Receiver cover BEFORE: AFTER:

ON a completely unrelated front does anyone know a drum Mag for the AK with metal/quality guts I managed to kill my CYMA. I fixed the broken piece with epoxy but im not sure how long till another part lets go. Last edited by Off_kilter; October 1st, 2012 at 09:46.. |

US Palm/Midwest Industries makes it in 2 length for AK. Regular fits in the same space as a regular AK wood/polymer handguard, and terminates before the front retaining cap of the AK handguard, and the extended version that goes over the retaining cap. This is the extended version. It goes to about the place where the gas block is.
They are also available in versions with detachable rail.. |

Nice shooter Maniac, looks better every time I see it.
Where did you get your gas block/front sight post and do they ship to Canada? I've been trying to find one like it with shipping to here. |

Not sure if they ship to Canada, being in US that obviously is easier to deal with. Its from here though:

Does the sight cinch and clamp properly? I only ask because some Russian sights sit in a bizarrely offset fashion vs many western parallel-to-bore type arrangements.
If it fits securely, it may be (somewhat) intentional though obviously only serving righties. I'd relish your input because I am a Bizon fetishist and need to know first-hand about optics. |
