My Plate Carrier finally came in the mail today. I was really pumped because it has been almost two weeks since I ordered it. Took the liberty of taking some pictures of me with all my ACU on. And In case you are wondering, I have some mag pouches on the way as well. Pretty soon I will have all my gear, and just be in need of a gun.

Fake vest?

Yea I was taking that picture for a paintball forum. Right now I am shopping for my first airsoft gun, so I didn't have one to hold for the picture...
Figured an A5 is better than nothing... My plans are to get a CA M15A4 and make it into a C7A1. And to ThunderCactus who said "Fake Vest?", yes it's fake. I got it from an airsoft site in the US, for $80. Why would I need a real one for airsoft? |

Real one has less sand color, the fake one looks really white. Your also guaranteed that the stitching won't come undone. The velcro is actually foliage green, and has a spot for your rank and nametape instead of just your nametape and a drag handle you can depend on lol
The most important part of the real one is the color, other camo's like woodlands and OD have fake gear which aren't so bad, some replicas are actually pretty close. But ACU is VERY sensitive to having an obstructed pattern, the stuff with too much white stands out even more than regular ACU as hard as it is to believe lol Even the 'real steel' companies don't have a solid standardized form of ACU so too much variation in your pouches is noticeable up close, but not at range. I used to have rothco ACU and after switching to propper (no really that's what the company is called lol), everyone said I was much more difficult to spot than usual. American gear is kind of unique in the fact that most of it is only slightly more expensive than the asian stuff due to it's wide availability and fact that US soldiers have to/can buy their own gear if they don't like the issue stuff. You can see the comparison in this picture of Ducky's OTV Last edited by ThunderCactus; December 14th, 2007 at 22:28.. |

Search for "OTV cover" on ebay, make sure you buy one size smaller
You can get the fake plastic sapi plates for them too, or cut foam yourself |

Is it just me or does ACU look totally out of place anywhere but in desert wastelands and arctic wastelands?
I guess the US plans on doing a lot more fighting in the middle east, as well as areas with heavy nuclear fallout... lol

It doesn't even look that good in desert and especially not against snow lol
honestly I think the primary reason being ACU is to eliminate friendly fire, as if the IR tabs and IR strobe weren't obvious enough at night, atleast you know no other country will make a standardized white camo lol How can you NOT tell it's ACU?? |
