I love Duracoat. I wish I had a useable airbrush.

Think about it man, that gun's paint will never chip. It's beautiful *Weeps*

It's resilient but I don't think it holds up neerly as well as actually spray paint. It's removable by hand after all

Another test with the DuraCoat, I did my extra carbine barrel and my front sight in Parker at the same time as my G17 slide. Applied to sanded surfaces, not sand blasted.
Camera flash makes it look slightly blue, but it's a very close match to the parkerized flash hider & handguard cap.

**Safety Note - Fumes - I've inhaled a lot of things over the years (some weren't too bad), but to anyone considering using DuraCoat, this stuff has extremely nasty fumes, especially the TruStrip degreaser "Vapors harmful or fatal". Make sure you are in a well ventilated area & wear a mask.

Nice, really nice. I already have too much projects on my hands and too little money on my pockets, stop tempting me!

I'm gunna have to invest in a good airbrush one of these days, and some Duracoat.

I saw an ad featuring a guy holding a dark earth coloured mk46 styled Minimi in a magazine. I'm tempted to pick up another Ca saw and paint it DE

The reason why I want to go with plasitdip is so I can take it off easily, only want white for the winter, and I get bored easy

White for winter is a good idea. If your only keeping it for a season it should be good

I like white M4's so I thought it would be a good idea for winter, comes off easier than paint.

I tried out the plastidip last night, I kind of think it was a mistake, it is going to be a huge pain to remove, it goes on really thick and globby not as nice as paint with all the crevasses with the rails and such it will take some time, I'll try to post a picture.

How many coats did you spray on?
I've read that thicker applications are easier to peel off compared to a thin layer.

There was about 2 coats on the stock, it just splits at any lines, that is the difficult part, especially with a RIS
