Was at a conference and LGen Devlin rolled out two models of the modern CF soldier (along with two guys from the War of 1812, probably not necessary here)

I was hoping to see alittle bit of gucci on the guy in TW, disappointed that he's still wearing current issue gear as in, that godawful tac vest.

But it does look like he's got the new uniform on...

That prototype helmet pisses me off already. How the fuck am I gonna be able to smoke in the field with that POS? They should stop wasting money on this shit. FUCK! If that thing gets issued, i'm going to break it as fast as possible so I don't have to wear it. If they ask why, i'll reply with "Because fuck you! Thats why!" Sure, I understand the intent of such a product, but seriously, what the fuck?

Sorry...rant ending now. I hope to god shit like this isn't why nobody can get a Class B anymore. I know quite a few people who could use it more than a project like this that will more than likely flop and get scrubbed.

It doesn't even look like it's removable. I don't see a chinstrap or neck strap, I think the face guard is actually what secures it to your head.

I'm looking at joining. I gotta say though that guard or strap or... abomination I wonder what its function is... doesn't look to protect much if at all.

There must be a reason for this. Or did they think the TRI-AD was sufficient?

Cost is the only reason, the feds love to cut corners with spending especially when it comes to our troops.

That tac latch gets caught on everything. I wouldn't bother with it.

Thats an amazing loadout. Great job. (Well an amazingly accurate loadout. Apparently the troops hate the tac vest.)
