I spoke to the guys from BL tech recently, and encouraged them to keep at it with this project. They are family men, busy with other stuff, but they know this project needs to happen as it will be a pretty big addition to the world of airsoft.

They are committed to making a good product that doesn't fall apart, and I reminded them to make the volume variable (they were hinting at doing that anyway) using inserts or something - just to keep people happy who have concerns over the volume / symmetry with a real firearms muzzle report. Should keep worried field owners happy if everyone can tone down their unit.

This is awesome! I am concerned for public opinion though, it does sound like a firearm more or less.... But other than that, can't wait for the release!

Just a quick update. I spoke to the BL Tech guys last weekend at our Nationals. I was told their devices will be going to the market later this year but no info on price yet.

Also they don't have plans for a PEQ box option.

Too bad, the PEQ box would be a great form factor for this device. Still very cool and you never know what will happen in the future.

Hmm, thought they'd have something released by now, since this thread died in July.

But, nice to see them kicking around still. They should look into a PEQ box, that would be brilliant.

It'd be awesome for CQB. It'd give those of us who spent all this extra money on real earpro comms, a reason to actually use it.
I mean, sure being able to give a cocky nod and say "yeah, these are real. They cost more than your gun" is worth sweating out half your body weight through your ears while some jackass renders them useless by hot mic-ing through the entire OP...But being able to play with Thunder Bs and .22-sound simulators is just the icing on top.

They did have something new, not for your rifle but great for a game scenario.

Check it out in this video

Thought it's time for a quick update for those not yet in the know:

Quote:
THE B.O.S.S. UNIT IS COMING!!!
It’s been a long time in the making but the B.O.S.S. (Ballistic Ordnance Sound System) M203 Grenade Launcher is coming!
We have scheduled a release date sometime this year and we NEED your support so please share our Facebook page to receive the latest information and release date. To make the B.O.S.S. unit a reality we will be calling upon your services soon.
We would like to thank the airsoft community for all your support to date. It has given us the strength to push through all the technical challenges faced when trying to produce a device that can do what only the B.O.S.S. unit can do.
As a result of all the feedback, we have taken into consideration the pros and cons in particular the sound levels. We have put in place the ability to govern the amount of sound a unit can produce. We call it a “class” configuration and we plan to have 5 of them. A “class – 5″ config could allow many units to be played indoors whereas a “class – 1″ would require the use of professional hearing protection. These classes can be easily identified and as such, field owner can stipulate the class levels tolerance for their field.
We are avid airsoft players and we know what it takes for equipment to survive in the field and the frustrations it can cause when it decides to fail. As we said earlier, this has been a very demanding project and we have pushed for perfection in all areas of the units’ performance. We don’t want to take shortcuts and disappoint as this is certainly a revolutionary device.
Standby….

"finally"

They posted that a month ago
Stiiiillll waiting

I'm curious whether it's gonna work with gbbrs too; as in, what's triggering it exactly

Asked that question to them when they announced this (again, it's been a month) and still no reply about this :/

Won't work for GBBR IIRC, only AEG for now, and since it's been almost 2 years, probably not for a long time.

PEQ was in discussion back then, but probably not, think it uses the M203 internals for the housing.. needs to be directly connected to the gun (AEG)
