From what I recall.....
In the Mid-90 the CF formed a "regt" with a set of tests for PT. These guys would Challenge all current serving members of the CF. You were awarded Bronze, Silver, or Gold, depending on your score on the PT testings.
It was a flawed plan and quickly crashed and burned for a variety of reasons This of course did not last very long as the "Brass" were not keen on having to do the PT that the Privates were still good at.
