Thanks for the comments on mid-work, guys..

.. Et (pretty much) Finit.

I still have to remove and paint the rear mods, but that will be done at another time.

Photo's show the front mount finished - first and second photo shows range of elevation of the gun mount (it ain't an AAA gun, so higher elevation isn't really required - keeping to the higher ground is of benefit for a vehicle not worried about air attack ). I can increase the elevation range with additional filing of the front mount, but we'll see where we are at with that after the first game to see whether the present setup is fine or not. While the butt-stock fits fine between the handle-bars, it isn't really meant to be used on the move - it's more of a 'travel to location and assume a static blocking or guarding position off of the ATV' type setup.

Partial ingredient list for the project was as follows:

Various bits of aluminium plate, tubing and flat/bar/boxed stock.
Satellite TV mount base.
2 x HD corner desk cast-aluminium re-enforcers for the front mount arms, re-purposed and modded.
repurposed M203 RIS mount and 2 x swing swivels.

All in all, about ~70 hours into this, with basic tools consisting of assorted files, hand drill and drill press, jig-saw with metal blade, and hack-saw.. nothing more fancy than that. My lathe decided to sh*t the bed through lack of use these past few years of idleness, so i went back to the tried and true hand-tool methodology. Oh, and a lot of patience was beneficial, too.

As above, the additional front mount is a "keeper" mount .. it keeps the gun from going anywhere as the ATV bounces about, as well as controls the vertical range of motion. I did this also, to keep the main portion of the mount from stressing the stamped sheet metal of the box magazine cradle - without the keeper mount, the box magazine cradle would be resting against the main pintle/pole mount.

Now, I guess i should actually get around to replacing that bad King-Pin on the front end of the thing, that needed replacing when i bought it 4 months back .. repairing just ain't as fun as creating.

Not to worry.. I've been here a while, and they all know of my various eccentricities, and hobbies - all of them being quite harmless (well, except for/to me, but chicks dig scars as they say..). Common comment from them, no matter what it may be that i'm tinkering with/blowing up/breaking in spectacular fashion.. "Neat!!". No one has backed away slowly from me with an uneasy grin, or called the cops on my activities in 30 years of mechanical mayhem and off-beat projects yet - I am the well-known and admitted mechanical Gyro-Gearloose of the neighborhood. I am also located at the end of a very quiet dead-end private Condo road, and with very little visitor traffic in adjoining units, and in a blind corner, there is no chance of unknowing public drive-throughs/freak-outs. The neighborhood Suzie Soccer-mom's know that they have nothing to fear of me.

However, thanks for the concern expressed over the apparently public nature of the photos... if i had only moved in last week, the trust factor for rolling it out onto the driveway for a quick photo-shoot would be nil - for both myself, and for them.. I am the paranoid type, so this wouldn't be done unless privacy and neighborly discretion was pretty much assured.

This was just a test, worked well. The bright red was too funny...So I ordered paint, and that's my summer project.

No windows, windshield folds down or can bolt a piece of plexi on.

Ahh... seeing all these comments and photos... Reminds me of when I had planned to make a custom Land Rover (heavily armored dune buggy XD) for three, the driver, a passenger, and a flat plate in the back with a mounted gun.... Had it all planned out and my dad was supposed to help me build the vehicle... and as usual it never started :/ miss the good old days when I had a project in mind. Still, I'd love to see one of these in person.. although not so much being on the business end of the gun lmao
