I'd like to do the mod where you drill a hole into the top of the receiver and put a grub screw in to control the hop up.

Are there exact measurements on where to drill, or am I just supposed to do it in the exact centre of the front? It looks like the hole is drilled into the exact centre.

I'd also like some info on this if it's available, I have all the tools necessary. I could figure it out myself but have no time right now due to my work-eat-sleep schedule lol.

Yeah, pretty much in the middle of that larger part of the top rail. Be careful when drilling, when you hit the part where the gas tube goes, the drill might want to drift as it's a tiny spike, if you know what I mean...

Where is the cheapest place to buy magazines for this gun? Redwolf seems cheapest, but customs fees are probably going to inflate its price a bit.

I just saw that 007 Airsoft has some pretty cheap at this moment, cheaper than what I paid from Ehobby 2 years ago.

I'm having an issue i cant figure out. When I load a mag and the weapon is not cocked, the valve knocker gets pushed up by the mag and doesn't reset when the charging handle is pulled. Otherwise the weapon works 100%. If I cock the action and THEN load, I can fire all day long no problems.

I've just gotten a metal lower on my gun (finally after 3 plastic lowers) but I'm missing one of the spring loaded pins that keeps pressure on the front body pin to keep it in place. This wasn't a problem with the plastic receiver, but with the metal one it just slides right out.
Anybody know of somewhere I can pick up a spring that size? I can make my own pin. I'd order it from KJW but I need it for Nightfall 2 next weekend.

You could also check for a "magic pin" as it will eliminate the little wobble as well. Otherwise, I think that a retractable ball pen might have a spring about the same size

I've actually already got a Magic Pin coming from airsoftparts. It won't need the side pin to not slide out? Just worried about losing it 30min into the 18 hour milsim...

Put a thin piece of electrical tape in there and mash the pin back it... won't go anywhere. I've had to do that as well before I got my magic pin, I've al so done it for the rear body pin because my gun came used and with the detent pin missing.

The magic pin makes a tight fit, so it shall not come out easily, you need to intighten it to get it out.

There ain't any slot for the retaining pin if I recall correctly.

I need a little help. I too like Saberwing just recently upgraded to a metal receiver. Could someone do a top down shot of their lower receiver. I just need to know the orientation of the hammer spring. Every time I slap it together the trigger is seized. Thanks in advance. *I know i'm a noob for not taking a picture before dis-assembly*

Very informative thread ! I'm planning to customize my M4, but I lack confidence... This is what I'm planning :

But for that, I need a 12.5" outer barrel. I've heard there's little modification needed by getting an AEG outer barrel.

I don't have power tools or a place to use them, so, any advice how to work on it ?

Thanks.
