RacingManiac, that is still a beautiful pistol. The little details you added definitely look great even/especially without the compensator. I have the same Nova slide & frame kit and while it's beautiful, yours is definitely unique. A couple questions for you:
Do you find that the PDI Barrel "meshes well" with the Nova barrel bushing? Did you see the Vicker's type magwell made by Nova (link)? They seem to match the magwell in this picture which attached to a slide/frame that looks a lot like the Nova kit you and I have. Perhaps the Nova kit was modeled after the real-steel 1911 in the picture? I almost want to copy it exactly...

VFC kit was a bitch to install many hours of filing
metal over all is good better than guarder old stuff, trades deep and crisp. I didn't like the primer type paint job it came with so I painted it with krylon. I am over all really happy with it, I game it on a regular basis, not a wall hanger. Its kinda hard to tell the quality at 3mgpix and I really dont know the first thing about taking hi quality pics, but its a beautiful piece. |

The VFC kit is probably below Guarder in quality because both slide and frame are sand cast aluminum, with cast-in trades. Guarder's trades seem to be engraved after, and not cast-in... can't believe I'm siding with Guarder... uhg. You can see the roughness of the trades here on Airsoft Global— http://airsoftglobal.com/product_inf...oducts_id=8129 But for the low purchase price, it's a decent choice for a game gun, if you don't mind the fitment work. PS: Simple picture advice— stay at the distance your cam needs to focus 24–36", then use the zoom to get in better, also avoid the flash and shoot with daylight. Cheapo tripod does wonders.

PDI barrel and Nova bushing is of no issue....the fitting of another barrel to the slide that was originally used with the SD was more of a problem. PDI barrel's bottom "cam"(the profiled tab that rides on the hop-up chamber) is slightly taller and different shape....had to do more filing to get the gun to return to battery properly.... I think the only way to use flash is to bounce it.... |

Excuse my poor picture taking. Here is my custom TM 1911:
Its really a love it/hate it kind of thing. I personally love the concealed hammer. What I didn't include is the silencer and the MEU mag. |

I guess I could also add these to the list as well:
There is my HFC colt 1908 vest pocket, TM Detonics with the next pic showing custom grips and of course the Tanaka browning Hi Power. I wasn't quite sure if that one belonged here but its here anyway. |

Just got it a couple of weeks ago, haven't been able to game it properly yet... waiting on extra mags held up at customs.
I can't wait.

annoyingly Redwolf delivered a normal guiderod as opposed to a Palsonite one....at anyrate I did some mod so that I can torque the 2 piece rod properly so it won't loosen up... |

That is a shame, the palsonite guide rod would have been an excellent look combined with the barrel. I am a big fan of the full length guide rod myself, makes it look more complete... I put in a nova stainless guide rod and plug on my Vickers Custom.

I have a feeling it was discontinued a while ago though.....PDI's site doesn't have it up anymore(plus tons of stuff is out of stock), RW probably didn't update their listing....I thought about returning it but decided it was too much trouble to deal with an oversea seller....

I completely agree, especially for a small part like this. The overall look is still achieved and like I said, mine is stainless as well. Watching your Vickers Custom evolve to it's current state has always been a point of inspiration for my 1911 projects.
I ordered from PDI once myself, got a palsonite inner barrel for my Vickers Custom and a few other small parts for other guns. I'm looking at getting a few more things someday, but I'm starting to get the discontinued feeling as well for some of them. Hopefully the out of stock items will be in stock again soon as I have some 1911/2011 projects to complete and others to start.
