But the PVS-14s are better than the PVS-7s why be a cyclops when you could have sterovision?

There's something to be said for the sort of retro feel. I can't explain it, but it's the same reason one might field a revolver or an Vietnam styled M16 over a more modern variant.

Although it's weird getting no depth perception when looking through it. It takes some time to get used to.

I only have the PeeperPro 17, I'd need a 80mm panty filter to get anywhere close to the SV2000.

Did you opt for the standard model, or the Pro model? The increased contrast and resolution, plus on board recording capability to a SD card, will easily win out in terms of general usability. I wouldn't have a use for the device without the capability for making "home movies."

I believe the new 2012 model has a police scanner as a standard feature.
