Cuz we wanted to use the CA one?
When we went to Op Cove in Virginia we talked with the Polar Star guys and they were testing the 249 units over the weekend. Figured we'd give them a shot as they worked fantastic. The CA saws were also on sale when they were purchased so it was the better deal at the time. |

The difference between the V2 and the 249, 240, and V3 FEs are just the mounting brackets. Everything else is exactly the same. No reason not to get the 249 FE really.
That thing is gonna be a beast! Now I want to get one too, I am finding the M240 a bit heavy to lug around all day :P I cant wait to play with you guys again!

The 249 is pretty light weight I find. I have never actually gamed a saw but after putting this together and seeing them in action I've got a hankering for it :P
the 249 engine is light compared to the stock CA internals. Really lightens it up. Took the shitty ass floppy bipod off the front of them as well. Gotta find 2 real steal grip pods next. |

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

I guess the P*s are all the same cost anyway, the G&Ps are just more rugged, and use a better hop chamber.
But if the CA's were on sale, then that's a pretty good deal. |

We have 5 or 6 CA saws on the team and I think that they hop ups are fine. Never had a problem with them and range/accuracy is great. I had heard that the older CA hop ups were shit. Not sure if they have changed.

Oh yeah, and the 294/240 kits come with the parts needed to connect the box mags to the FCU so they will run when the trigger is pulled. Its nice to not buy those separate :P

I was actually looking at the G&P Stoner Mk23 last weekend when I was out at a game, made me really want one.
It would make an amazing P* me thinks. I know you have one too :P

I've seen several AEG stoners come out to a game, pass chrony, pass the initial hop up tweak then fail before or just into the first fire fight. |

It is nice but the ammo box motor could hardly keep up with teh P* if you go all out short burst teh ammo box barely keep up, I got to figured out how to reconfigure that ammo box motor

I probably would not try to go past 20~22 for a support gun like that, I have my M240 set up for 15~18 RPS, depending on how im using it. I also have an 11.1v LiPo running the system to help the boxmag keep up. When I was playing around after getting it installed I was able to push 40 RPS easy with no feeding issues.

The MK23 stoner ammo box is not as robust as their M249 or the Inokatsu ammo box |

Holy crap that is expensive for just one mag, the guys who i was looking at runs 3 box mags :S
It runs well at ~20 RPS on a ~9.6V NiMh/equivelent LiPo though?
