That it is. Mounted onto a nut inside the grip.

It's velcro straps that I grabbed off of a stock pouch from CPGear. Spur of the moment, probably will change it to a rubber band later.

whats the band supposed to be for? if you're trying to copy the look of the C7A1 in the pic above it's a velcro strap that comes with the tac light an PAQ4 kits so you can secure the pressure switch wire to the weapon so its secured to the weapon.
This is the joys is being QM and cleaning out cages from the RQ we had a dozen old tool cages come down, and I guess a couple were from the vault because they were packed with spare parts for .50 cal, C7, C9 and Carl G. All the Carl G and .50 stuff went into our vault, but we had no use for the C7 and C9 bits so they're in my locker to 'make use of'.

And the band is just keeping the grips tight. The Triad pinches them at the front and the bulge on the side...

going to put money that if you every actually use those pockets, you won't like em.
i used em, and didn't.
seem them to the place i got my pouches redone on, and had them turned to the velcro was on the side instead.
way easier, and yes, it's still secure that way.
