It's been popping up on the pictures lately:
Guys that hold their carbine kind of over their shoulder to fire a la paintball marker.
You don't want to be all geared up for milsim? I don't care.
They'res no recoil, so why would you fire from tucked in your shoulder, you may ask?
Well you paid good money for your AEG or GBBR, might as well not look like a ponce while shooting it.

Kinda rolled into the treating airsoft like it's paintball (which on its own I have no issues with)

is the rifle butt still touching the shoulder? or is it actually above the shoulder. either way these are actual tactics. firing without putting the butt on your shoulder with say a Ar-15 is possible and occurs in the actual military quite a bit since the 5.56 doesnt have a lot of recoil. but say with a AK hell no with above the shoulder

No.
This is firing an airsoft gun, thinking it is a paintball marker.

Apologies to whoever is in the picture.

Also, not to be ornery but your credibility on what constitutes tactics suffered a hit with the musket vs. rifle episode.

just saying it still looks like its on his shoulder, which in real life is a actual thing to do. I doubt he's doing it cause he knows about it, but regardless it is used to better align the iron sights on a real rifle. I can't find a picture but I've seen legit soldiers do it, hell there is even stocks that have been modded to accommodate this type of shooting

I'm pretty sure they only do it to shoot outside of vehicles or over cover in which they cant shoulder the weapon. In other cases, its almost always shouldered for the sake of actually hitting what you're aiming at.

Hey, a flightsuit isn't that bad when your covered in ants, it's actually probably the best protection you can have against the little buggers.

But when you have to piss, with a vest on... that's a different story...

If the ants start crawling into your barrel, free lube. (no pun intended, seriously )
