RCMP has adopted MC as their tactical Field uniform... so I have heard.... maybe a RCMP member on this forum could confirm that?

Could be, but earlier this year when the RCMP were hunting down the guy who had shot one of their officers, the local paper showed a pic of the officers wearing all kinds of mix & matched camo, some with woodland BDU pants or jacket, one with CADPAT pants and a black jacket, etc.

Does anyone else find the TRU multicam (or any Nyco TRU) to be rather cool? The fabric seems quite thin to me. Other than that, I love the Multicam pattern and the uniform.

Have the TRUSPEC pants (thanks Phalanix!!) fit great and a nice cut. Considering my ACU by Propper is almost an Identical cut I still prefer the feel of the TRUSPEC. Truely a step up in quality.

I love the Crye cut and if I do get it eventually, I'd like to get that cut. But I just can't justify yet *another* BDU and LB system in my closet. And when I look at MC I can't help but see "contract painter" - not that I am digital fan much anymore - digital suffers from the same obsolence problem that software does - you look at it and you say to yourself, "I remember that era!". I feel like I should be playing Donkey Kong in my CADPAT.
I've well and truely fallen back in love with my first pattern - US Woodland. Its cheap, plentiful and you can get it in goretex cheap and almost any LB system can be found in it... cheap (I am beginning to see a pattern here). My only other problem is all my airsoft money is tied up in stock these days and I got dinged on taxes last year so I am currently renting a pot to piss in. Perhaps once my self imposed austarity plan passes I'd pick up a set, but if any new kit is on my list next its saber radios. |

It also has a lot to do with geography. Here in Newfoundland, our forest is mainly coniferous trees, so it's very green and dark all year around. CADPAT is definitely idiot proof here; just throw yourself into the nearest pine tree and you're gone.
About 3 weeks ago I joined the Multicam club and I'm really pleased with how it works during the fall. In the height of summer, it won't be as good as CADPAT, but where it's fall there is a lot more subdued green and brown making it much more useful. Last game, I went prone behind some grass and the guy who was engaging me lost sight of me completely. I've got an MC helmet cover from SEALS and a repro MC BDU, and they both blend in very well with the yellow and light green grass. It wasn't that expensive a switch, since I didn't get the real stuff, but it was definitely worth my money. |
