Thanks for the compliments guys!!!

It started out as a basic tan IBH from Huang that has had a FEW hours of work put into it. The paint job was quite easy actually. I gave it a solid coat of OD and let dry for 15-20 minutes. Once it was dry to the touch I used some steel wool, a wire brush, and various grits of sandpaper to get this finish. The surface is somewhat like a orange peel so really all I did is hit the paint off the peaks. Then to finish it off I went back and gave it a very light dusting of OD and Brown.

Upgrades include:

-Oregon Aero helmet pad kit
-Oregon Aero chin strap (will probably replace with a ops core chin strap)
-Notoros Rhino Arm with homemade adaptor plate to fit the Wilcox Mount
-Homemade low profile led light with battery pack (light attached to right side)
-ACR MS-2000 Strobe
-A SHITE load of Velcro….lol

Is that a buckle that's gonna sit against your head?
If so...I'd fuckin' break it real quick...

Anyway, the latest incantation of my helmet;

I've also got my NVG's sitting in my locker at work, which mounted quite nicely last week. Aswell I've had my Skydex pads in for almost a year and a half now and they're still comfy as feck

M1940 HEER Actually.

You can't tell from the pictures but the helmet used to be a dark green colour. It was traded to a member of these forums for an airsoft gun which I then sold for $700.

it's a little hard to tell with just a picture. the decal appears to be of a gold colour (kriegsmarine) as opposed to silver (heer). the air vent looks like a rivet which would make it an M1935. But that's ok, it's a real nice piece and you got it in your hands so you should know.

The decal is actually white, the flash of my camera changed the color (like I said the helmet isn't black but green).

I had it appraised here in Canada for $500 and appraised by an American collector who said $700. In fact I was told by a bunch of collectors here in Canada over on CGN that I wouldn't get more than $400 for the thing

Hi guys,

I would be doing a seal 6 setup soon, thus would need some advise/help on painting my ibh helmet as im new to the airsoft scene?

1) Any recommendations for a ABS IBH helmet? Proud or Kingsarm ver?

2) What are the paints used to achieve the greyish base color as well as the brown, black tones on it?

3) Do you guys spray on the interior of the helm as well or just the exterior?

4) What type of helmet mounts and NVG arms should i use for PV14 NVG?

5) Where do you guys get those sticky back 'tan' velcros?

Tks alot for the help and assistance

Here's mine. It's for sale now though. I liked it, but it just needs to go.
