I bought a steel plate.. something like this, don't know which size I picked.
Measure, mark, pre-bend it to take the shape of the helmet and then use grinder to cut into slices, measure the weight on digital kitchen scale to know how many pieces you need.
Then I made a pretty shitty pouch (didn't have time, will remake) and attached velcro to it, done.

It's still a working progress, making small improvements on the way. I'm just broke as f***

One of a kind!

So here is my custom helmet that i just finished.

It started out as a black Delta force helmet. Threw some IBH rails on it, stuck on some velcro and painted it up. I will be throwing an NVG mount on it eventually.

Im really happy with how it come out.

Nothing Special, all repro, but she just arrived in the mail this morning, so I'm excited.

2x E Lites for IFF purposes
1x Homemade callsign patch, (business card, tape and velcro)
2x Canadian flag
1x 15 minute paintjob

Next up is rigging a Q/D system for a mesh mouth/nose mask, so I can still eat/drink without removing the helmet/eyepro, and then reattach the mesh for when in close contact such as breaching.

i did a littl experiment this week after taking yet another bb in the face from 5-10 feet.
im sure with more time and a sewing machine it would look really good but here s my rough copy.
fast helmet with (headlock) clips, needle/thread, mesh mask 1 strap not sure how 2 strap will work?, scissors, opt camo duck tape (added support and cover up messy sewing job)

works great, comfortable, just unhook 1 clip and let it hang down when not needed, works great with headsets too because of the clip placement its not in the way. also there is 2 ways of putting on or taking off either unclip from the helmet or use the velcro on the mask.
also; i run a swimmer style headset so only 1 ear peice. (why 1 of the straps is shortly longer)

I did the same thing as ceazer except with mounts that attach to the ACH ARC. Those mounts were easier/cheaper to find.

Ceazer, where did you get yours from?

I'm using the same method on my helmet. Waiting for the clips to come in from China.

In the meanwhile, I've used a couple of rubber wedges from an ear guard to connect the mask so I can use it.

I've also got rail clips for my goggles coming in.

My Cavalvy headset is connected with velcro on the left side of my helmet, and the ear guard (the one I got the rubber wedges from) is velcro'd to the right.

Its great at the end of the game to be able to take off helmet, goggles, lowerface guard and comms all as one piece. I hated having 3 extra sets of straps for each thing all that sitting on my head making the helmet very uncomfortable!
