Hello ASC!
My name is Rob, and I currently live in Owen Sound, Ontario. I'm 18 years old, but not yet AV'd. xP I haven't been to any games, but I've been interested in airsoft for over a year. Not that that says much. xD Well, I hope to get to some games, meet some people, and have a hell of a good time. =P

Hey everyone, my names Jay. Im 29 and new to airsoft. I picked up my first airsoft a few days ago as an alternative to playing milsim paintball in the winter since my city has no indoor milsim style paintball fields. I know alot of you dont like the word paintball because the markers look like space guns or if they do look semi real they still have the hopper on it, but mines different I play on a milsim paintball team called Devils Legion, we are sponsored by Milsig Canada (www.milsig.ca) which make mag feed paintball markers. I know posting there website seems like a shameless sponsor plug but they also recently started selling airsoft guns as well so its semi relevant. I dont know what brand of airsoft I bought on another forum i joined the people think it may be a socom gear M4. Heres a few pics

Hello Airsoft Canada,
I am looking at getting into airsoft as an alternative to paintball. I find that I am looking for a more serious challange than sneaking up on unsuspecting renters at my local paintball field. When I was young (still elemetary school) I looked into both airsoft and paintball. At the time paintball made more sense but that was 10 years ago. I am older now and have looked into airsoft and I am sold. Time to get age verified... I plan on attending the Toronto Airsoft Convention, and look I forward to meeting some of the airsoft community. I love new hobbies. |

Welcome, Marjitom!
You should come to TAC11 this weekend. You'll be able to purchase your rifle there and get age-verified at the same time, which nets you access to the classifieds. Also, you'll be able to see what kind of gear people are running and possibly model a loadout based off of that. Cheers Shatter. |

New to Airsoft, any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi all,
My name is Victoria, I haven't come up with a callsign yet but hoping one day to have one. I started playing with a friend in Calgary and have played a few indoor games. I've been playing with a SIG Sauer P226 borrowed from a friend and any info on using/care/maintenance or any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Victoria |

However basic things you should always do that aren't that hard is cleaning your equipment. It doesn't mean taking apart the whole gun to clean it and rebuilding it form scratch (like race car drivers do, but then again they're sponsored and companies pay big bucks to put their logo on these cars) but simply wiping down externals, drying out your gun if it's wet, and in general taking care of it goes a long way. If you get a bit more adventurous then cleaning the inner barrel and putting grease in the right place in your internals works wonders increasing durability/mitigating hard wear/stress on the internals. A guy named Six4 has a basic weapon maintenance video that you can find here: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=95496 PS: I assume you're talking about Laser Trek? I should really make the trip there one day but lack of a car and Trek being like 2 and a half hours from where I live is kind of a turn off. Maybe I'll get a co-op placement at Suncor or Syncrude or something one day....
