They're also not very good

All the BB's that are in the hop-up and tube and all that don't stay illuminated.

Yeah...do not want a magazine based tracer. We shoot real cap and 30 rnds go pretty quick.

Is it wrong to want the air in a blacked out warehouse completely filled with tracers blazing back and forth, ricochetting, flying everywhere....just for a little bit?!?

not wrong at all. a little light show would be fun. (plus the ouchies coming from distance in the dark are amusing!)

Just got back from Europe yesterday and it was waiting for me in a nice little package marked "Flash Light" not opened and resealed even by customs.

Sorry for necro..

Anyone got info on Bio Tracers? So far I've only came up with Bioval's FLUO bbs and Excel..

Are tracers even considered "bio"?

Haven't come across bio tracers before. Primarily run madbulls but will be using whatever tracer BB Bastards I can get my hands on this year.

Funny that I'd never come across this thread previously when this thread first appeared.

Just an added note that there are actually three different Tokyo Marui tracer versions. There was a first gen that I came across one time available for sale off of ebay... probably about 13 or so years ago. The second gen is from way back in the late '90s/early 2000s and I think that the 3rd gen is about 5 yrs old or so?

Also, weren't the Marui tracer BBs .25g or .28g? Now I'm going to have to go down to my basement and check the box that I still have lying around...

We have styrene tracers in stock on the web store right now, and just got our first shipment of the M125 Gen II tracers today for inspection and review.

BIO TRACERS can happen but are prohibitively expensive to manufacture. There just isn't a market for them yet.

There's at least one game in the Ontario section of this forum right now which is a "night game" (that is, at least half the game will be in dusk or the dark) but at a field that has decided to mandate bio BBs. You gotta wonder how that's gonna happen.

I think most if not all Ladytresses's games have Bio requirements, probably since he finds all these new "untapped" resources (non dedicated fields)..
But yea, that game + new M249 + possible tracer mod is why I nercoed this thread.

Blackthorne, your site is the first I checked.
In terms of manufacturing, isnt it just sprinkling some phosphorous into the "bb plastic mix"?

I can't go into to much detail but I an say that the glow substance is actually in the mix. It's not a surface application. Injection molding is a very precise process, involving temperature, viscosity, flow rates, cooling time, material blah blah blah. Introducing a new ingredient into that process is easy. Doing proper R&D to make sure it' doesn't manifest in weirdness is allot of work and can't be taken lightly from a business perspective.

Every time we have been asked to tweak the recipe, we have had to think about things like if it will shatter, under what load, material distribution issues, mold residue issues etc.

We are working on a full line of ECO products, but PLA is a finicky material to work with at the best of times
