The issue about quality for price is a tough one seeing as by the whole manufacturing costs are much higher in Japan so that could account in part for the large price gap. Jing Gong MAY be using the exact same quality of materials that TM or CA does, we really have no way of knowing for sure (at least at this time). <-----(more fun with speculation)

All speculation aside, only time will tell if the Jing Gongs are worth their price. Heck, I'm willing to gamble on it and have ordered a couple for loner/backup guns so maybe further down the road others will be able to learn from the experiences of myself and whoever else buys the JGs.

So until then let's not say that Jing Gong is the Holy Grail of airsoft and let's also not say that only companies that charge for $450 + Canadian can make a decent weapon (there's no need for fussin' and fightin').

Just my thoughts.

Happy gaming everyone,
-Dr.
Makes sense for the most part, except for the fact that Classic Army guns are also made in China, and are rather expensive.

since when has fps denoted a better gun. I have always wondered this. Maybe its because I am used to classics that can get to 100 yards without going over 400fps. Its silly just because the pellet moves faster doesnt make it more consistent etc.

Because n00bs have never gamed and they don't know any other way to measure how good an AEG is?

The copy right laws in Asia are very different.

I could sing the latest hit by o say linkin park slap my name on it throw it on a record and no one can stop it. And they share a lot of info over there. wouldn't surprise me if tm stock gears and ca gears are made of the exact same materials.

jing gongs may very well be "identical" to a ca gun to the last mm. The main reason why ca guns are so expensive is the Nike syndrome.
It really only costs 10 bucks to buy a Nike quality shoe with out the names and all, but the latest Nike shoe can go for 120 regardless of that point.

No name china stuff is often the same as name brand but half the price.

for the record, I think alot of people on here are contesting the speculation ABOUT JG, not opposing JG outright.

Aside from the fact that some places are only offering them for a marginally lower price than the regular brands, I'd be tempted to buy JG and just work on them. (notice: 'tempted' , not 'burning with uncontrollable desire' or 'willing to try and convince people it's a good idea with unsupported 'facts')

It's really only the unsupported claims that get me, and the defensive attitude people get about new products that haven't really been put through their paces.

well i agree...
i agree with Dr. too ^^
That's axactly what i was thinking....

And bean i didn't say that lol.
I just like when a pelle goes fast and i think it's like this for anyone.
Well i didn't say "faster pellet = better gun", but i like the fact that it shot fast.

I don't know about you guys, but i like to see that i have some power in what i buy...I mean not only with airsoft or paintball but like anything....Like your car lol. You want a good quality car that won't need any reparations but you want something powerfull when you need it or when you want it ^^

It is not necessarily an important criteria for everyone but i think it is a big one for me.

I like when the bb is going far but i agree it doesn't tell how good is the gun and that's for sure...

And well, from what i know, i don't think Jing Gong got any MP5 models...

I know about the G36C, the M4, and the w16-4 but i don't know about anything else...

Oh and i think they did a "Desert Eagle" model...
Buyairsoft.ca did have an MP5 SD/5 SD6 Combo thats right combo both stocks 2 batteries 1 large 1 small and 320 fps i think it was $275.00 plus tax and shipping i was gonna get it but got the m4 insted

Right. So you buy a car you know has been tested and works, and that there is a lot of info on, and that's been around for a long time and is a true design.

Eh, you guys can have your JG 36s. I'll stick to STAR.

But seriously, JG may be nice-pricewise... but on a G36, you'll want to invest in the best quality possible. Example... ABS (TM,JG) vs "Glass fiber" (CA), or Fiber glass reinforced with zinc (STAR).. I know for a fact that the ABS will crack first.
