willing to perform services in a dark alley that may or may not leave you satisfied for a title. GFE = 1, looks = 2, BBFS for an extra $50.
|
Back on the subject of old pricing, when I started (05-06) I paid $500 for an A&K SPR NOD1 and a buddy of mine paid $700 for a TM AK47 so the prices I see today are a godsend.

Any non-black coating decreases value. Period. Simply because you've just limited the target audience of the resale market. Not everybody likes Kryptek or "Burnt Dark Bronze" or "Stealth Grey".
Continuing with the automotive theme, why do you think asians buy white cars? Because highest resale value.

I personally wont touch anything thats been painted/repainted. Unless its a proper job with Duracoat or Armacoat (Or whatevercoat it is these days.) Not really a fan of the 'operator' paintjobs that seems to be the thing these days.

I am sorry to say that they look terrible ! It is just my personal taste though.
But it is also a good example of guns with paint jobs will limited its appeal to certain group of buyers. For the "overpriced" or "undervalue" issue, it is, as many have said before, supply and demand. If it is something you have been looking for a while and not available, especially it is something more unique, you may be willing to pay a bit more for it. On the other hand, if it is just another M4, or AR variants, AK, people are less willing to pay more even it is from a good brand. |

Not overly concerned myself about resell value. I want my guns tailored to how I want them so I rattle can paint away
But to each their own. Value is in the eye of the person making the purchase. If they dont like painted it wont be worth shit to them. If they like painted guns then it will have value. |

I must be the worst buyer then. I actually never look for discount.
I rather wait for a good price then lowball. |

Here's another point. No matter how many upgrayedd parts you throw at a crappy AEG it's still a crappy AEG.
You can't polish a turd.
