I essentially did what you will be doing to my G&G K98;
http://ontarioairsoftwwiireenactors....pic.php?t=1583 It will be easier for you, as you will just drill/tap directly to the mag, but the same idea is there. Very well worth it. Best of luck.

I hope so, I'm planning to use my 13ci 3000psi HPA tank tucked into a single pod pack for paintball on the back right side of my MOLLE vest so it's got maximum length. My one concern is reload time. The G96 uses a 15 round magazine, and I'd probably buy two more before I drill/tap the magazines just to get them all done at once, so that's $90 bucks (sponsor discount :P) for the two, then it's off to probably Flagswipe (even though personally I don't really like they're attitude towards customers, but then maybe it's me they don't like for whatever reason even though I've never done anything to them lol) for the regulator and some macro line, then to Home Hardware for the… hardware :P

I have a KJW M700 that i converted to run on an HPA/CO2 system. Iv used the sites that Iggys and Hectic have both linked earlier to help me with my build. I have tapped both the small mag and the large mag but plugged the small mag as the large mag is much nicer (30 rounds instead of 10 rounds) and i dont mind the look of the long mag sticking out either.
My system will run on 12g CO2 in the way you see it in the photos but i can take off the 12g adapter and i can screw in a regular HPA or CO2 tank you find in paintball. I usually put the "rig" in my pocket as im going to be making a butt stock pouch for it soon. on the 12g's i get about 100 to 120 shots running at about 100 PSI. I can adjust the PSI with an allen key as my regulator has a 0-200 psi output. I used to use just propane but i had very poor consistency but now that i am using a regulated air source my shots go where i want them most of the time. So i am quite happy with my Air set up now but i still look for ways to make the air system smaller and more discrete.

I did see one person do it and i thought about it but i did not like cutting a hole in it to have the air line come out of.
I have thought about modifying the mag so gas section is semi pertinently installed in the gun and the BB tube is the only thing that would come out so i can reload it. The air source would somehow attach to the mag through a completely internal gas tube leading to the but stock where i would have the RIG so i could change out the 12g's when needed. But that idea requires alot of work and skills. The ARES AW338 has a magazine system that is 2 parts 1 is the gas well the other is the BB shoot http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=9589 Thats what gave me the idea about fully internal gas system because i would not need to take out the gas well only the BB Shoot.

I had sent my 13ci tank in for repairs and it was fixed, but I'm having problems getting a hold of the guy who has it atm -_- (seems like I'm having a lot of that lately). As for the rest, I found a quick fill whip in my gear back I never used, so my plan was to have a single pod pack from paintball on the back right of my tac vest with the tank inside, a remote line to a regulator, the quick fill whip from the reg to the magazine. It'll be a little long, but it'll leave room for tweaking. So basically all i really need is my tank, the regulator, a pod pouch and a trio of air nozzles from the local hardware store.
On a side note, I'm trying to think of whether it'd be better to simply cut the barrel and resin a thread adapter inside the barrel to mount the flash hider I want or look for a barrel that has one…. Cutting it would be a lot cheaper, but I'm not the handiest with a hand saw and I'd be concerned about ending up with a non-square cut. Other than that, there isn't really anything else I'd do with the rifle, it's pretty well good with just those modifications… And on another side note, I'm about two weeks from ordering my favourite hand gun for $270 with shipping |

Okay guys, I need a little help here....
Talked to an "air-smith" at a nearby airsoft/paintball dealer and he said that he would never modify the gun as it would be a bomb and I quote, "Anyone who had successfully made the G96 work with HPA got extremely lucky but they wouldn't be able to do it a thousand times and get the same results." In essence, he's saying that ANYONE who made this modification has NO CLUE what they're doing. What bothers me more is that he said that there is, and again I quote, "NO regulator that can lower the pressure from an HPA tank sufficiently to a safe level to use in airsoft. I wouldn't even TOUCH the Polar Star systems, since it's taken eight years to make and it's STILL not working right." Furthermore, he also suggested I thread the INNER barrel to mount a flash hider. Uhh, excuse me? WHY? The inner barrel is the most critical component next to the hop-up unit, so WHY would you thread THAT to mount a STEEL flash hider? Wouldn't that put a lot of weight on the inner barrel and completely BOTCH it? Not to mention the end of the outer barrel is rounded and in my opinion looks like crap.. and that reminds me... even though he's the airsoft dealer and on of the owners... he didn't believe me when I told him the orange cap is painted on, not threaded. He was surprised when he went and looked at one himself... Come on. Assistance would be helpful... |

The guy obviously has no clue.
Therd are for sure hundreds of guys who have done hpa mods on various gjns. Pressure of propane (i think i linked it befor) is over 100psi at 25° there are bunch of regulators that are adjustable between 5-200psi (perfect for airsoft and PB) the mag itself can handle the pressure up to 200psi no problem. The "weak link" will be the connection to the mag and so long as it is tapped properly it will be just as strong as the fill valve or the release vavle are as they are also brass fittings tapped into the mag and they hold propane with no issues. Scroll down this page http://www.bingoairsoftworks.com/cat...pa-conversion/ And you will see a glock a kjw10/22 and a bolt action (either an l96 or a m700) mags converted to HPA look around the site and you can find out how to do it. Just buy the parts you need and do it. Only thing you may not want to do on yer own is drill and tap the mags. Prety much any small machine shop would be happy to take your money to do that for you. Tho with a steady hand and a drill and a tap set you can do it on your own. Its not rocket science it takes a bit of tinkering but it has been and can be done safely. I think the PB guy just doesnt want you to have a cooler gun the him. Or he just doesnt know shit about regulators. What the hell kind of regulators do they use in paintball ( all the pros will have a regulator on their tank runningbout 200-250psi then a seccond regulator for 10-200 in line between the tank and the gun to fine tune the guy is just a moron dont ask pb guys about airsoft yes they sell airsoft guns but they know paintball not airsoft build your gun then go ajd rub it in his face like "hey remember you said it couldnt beb done? Shows how smart you are") Hell just on saturday i seen Coach playing with a shotgun runnjng on either HPA or a remote line to CO2. Its nothing new all the first airsoft guns wer either spring or HPA powered

Ok, so my understanding is 13ci 3000psi HPA tank to REGULATOR (still required) to Remote Coil to Magazine...
I also had another thought: Will modified magazines even be permitted at the fields I go to? At the moment I only know Adrenaline in Melbourne and their indoor field (I obviously wouldn't use a sniper there lol) I'll have to contact Greg and ask/explain and see what he says. Aside from that, I'm getting about 200 bucks this weekend from a pb sale, so I was thinking of putting that towards some new parts... hop-up unit, bucking, barrel, etc... In your opinions, what should be the first thing I get? Also, I attempted to get AV'd, talked to the guy in person, and he said he had eight other names that he hadn't gotten to upload on here. So, from my experience, not a very good first impression. I'll have to get AV'd at a field if I'm lucky enough to find an AVer at Adrenaline or something. |

A good inner barrel and hop up rubber are good investment.
As far as the hoa setup youll want a regulator at the bottle then youll want another small regulator (one that goes between 10-200psi) between the first regulator and the magazine then you set the main regulator to 190 or 200 psi then you use the smaller regulator to adjust the psi till you get the right fps around 425 or so. Thatll give you a buffer for temprature changes and such. Be sure to keep and eye on the mini regilator for psi changes (say its set at 120 and after a few hours the sun comes out and it gets warm it may climb a bit so lower it back to 120. Putting a small mark with marker will let you know exactly where to set it for the right fps. Also a tip when you set the lil reg turn the big one down so its only 10 or 20 psi higher thatll give you moreof a safety buffer if the mini reg fails you wont have a huge raise in fps. Main thing is always check the small regulator to be sure it stays set at the correct psi. And dont go turnin up the psi once the gake starts thinkin itll give you more range or something cause ot really wont and if you wind up hurting sommone you wont be playin with that group again and it wont ne long befor the community finds out and then you wont play much of anyplace.

Well, yeah. I'm not someone who would do that. Play by the rules or don't play at all. Someone getting hurt isn't worth it. I'm not planning on screwing with the gun just before the game starts. I'm 21, not some little kid.
Not saying anything against you Hectic, but I'm mature enough to understand and respect the rules, players and spirit of the sport. Anyway, so I need TWO regulators then. |

Yes the main regulator on the tank (useually high presure regulator from 100-3000 psi or simaler)
And then another smaller one from 10-200 for adjusting the fps.
