One may not believe in the need to train in self-defense, considering that it's best to simply avoid dangerous situation. But the point to self-defense trainning is actualy to avoid those situations, and knowing what to do if you can't avoid them. I'm talking about self-defense specific classes, not necessarily martial arts, because martial arts serve another purpose than just plain self-defense. I'm far from "knowing it all" about the subject thought, but I have an interest and I like to share opinions about it.
