upon closer inspection I have come across another possibility, I believe that some force, be it the firing or loading, is pressing the inner barrel forward, the flanges holding it in place then shear, transferring that force to the mounts of the outer barrel, which were never meant to be load bearing, but ive put maybe 20 mags through my 5-7 and it still functions fine, but the hopup is totally mauled

OK I have band aided the problem for now, like skladfin, i made the fit tighter to stop movement, but i didnt want something like scotch tape, so I used some specialty super glue to make an even coat about 1/10 mm thick all around the barrel mounts and between the inner and outer barrel, and now there is absolutely NO movement when I use it, so it is confirmed, secure the outer barrel to the hopup by improvised means, and there will be NO issues whatsoever

just to make sure you know, i did NOT glue it together, I used a layer of glue to make it a tighter fit

dont use glue... it causes friction and still can deform like metal. And pieces of it can leave itself inside the barrel or hop up rubber if it's so close to the inner barrel, especially with the force of a GBB.

Tape on the other hand can absorb shock and is a soft material, much more wear/tear friendly towards the other parts of the hop up. It also won't break/grid itself off the action of the GBB(Since it absorbs all of the shock).

Though im glad to hear it's working well now.

this isnt dollar store super glue, its actually some custom formula glue I ordered from a company in the US like 8 years ago that i just call super glue because its... super
its is very thin and applies easily, and unlike crazy glue, it dries semi tacky, so it is still soft, meaning it has excellent shock absorption abilities, the one thing normal super glue lacks

its really hard to explain, but its properties can be best described as a combination of the adhesiveness of super glue, with the more rubbery texture of blue locktite,

Skladfin, you figured out how to take the BBU out? I've taken the barrel out and the rear sight screw, so I thought it would just pop out at this point, but it doesnt seem to budge

NVM i got the BBU out, you have to use like 4 tiny wedges to spread the slide at 4 points where the rails are attatched to the BBU

Ignore him, he does things his own way which usually ends up in his guns breaking. So dont even bother worrying about it, let him break his guns.

Well, mine has arrived. I just a a few things to add:

First off, this pistol is BIG. I mean, it's not Mk23 big, but it's a good half an inch longer and taller than a G17/18C, and the slide is maybe a quarter inch wider. Despite all that, the grip is incredibly comfortable.

I was worried about the size of the grip when initially considering this pistol. The thing is it's long, but very slim. The "C" from your thumb along your palm leading to your trigger finger is probably where most discomfort stems from when using wider pistols like 2011s and M9s. On the 5-7, the grip is especially slim above the thumb/finger rest where the C of your hand rests. It's actually a good chunk slimmer than my aforementioned G18C. The length doesn't seem to cause any problems at all. Your fingers just wrap around slightly less, but the grip is still very solid. The stippling is a great addition.

The other thing that I was worried about was the position of the magazine release, considering the length of the grip. I guess FN anticipated this - the mag catch wraps around the front of the grip and extends further back than on most pistols. This makes it even easier to reach than the shorter but stockier Glock and MUCH easier to reach than on a Beretta. The slide catch is also much easier to use since it's been moved back to above where your thumb actually rests. TM did reinforce the slide and catch with metal. The design of the internal section here looks like it will last much longer under wear than the TM G17. That said, it's useless for a lefty and I don't use it anyways (rack to charge, rack to close).

Probably my biggest disappointment so far is the hop up design. It's still the same very stable design as the hicapa and Mk23. The difference (and cause of the issue) is the adjustment. The chamber is much narrower than on these other pistols (well, honestly - 5.7 vs .45?), which really limited space for the hop up adjustment wheel. As a result, instead of the very easy to adjust half wheel with indicator used in the Mk23 there is a tiny full wheel. It feels mushy and is not visually clear as to where your hop is set. It's also relatively difficult to adjust. That said, it's still the same good design and does incorporate a h-hop style notched pusher.

Another thing, this thing actually works REALLY well on duster (I guess that's to be expected). Don't let the low fps fool you, it's still quite the performer. I'm still using propane though

I has said it before, when i got it, the screws that held the rails onto the BBU were loose, so i had to take it out to tighten them
