If no failure, list rounds fired up to this point) played one night game, mag blew next game, repaired for following games. would like to add that when the repair is done im able to get exactly 150 bb's from one mag charge. 8) Changes to Internals (upgrades, dates) no upgrades, other than mag repair. 9) Resale Date and Value if applicable. not for sale. academy l85a1
1) Manufacturer, Model Name academy l85a1 2) Date Obtained feb 06 3) Initial Cost $250 4) New or Used used (unused though) 5) Mechanical Problems no real "issues" it was underpowered 6) Esthetic Problems after takeing it apart numerous times screw holes began stripping out. the takedown was poorly thought out, gun splits in halfs, the susat was just a "1X" lens with a red led, it actually worked tho. body was not made of the greatest plastic, light, flimsy. 7) Rounds fired between failures n/a gun problems due to my modifications, not manufacturers construction 8) Changes to Internals (upgrades, dates) i installed complete famas internals (everything but hte shell) may06 (which was unneccissary, a spring would have done just as well, as the gears and piston, motor were of good construction, i was just being careful) the famas motor didnt fit properly, which ended up causing a wack of problems down the road. it was wider than the stock motor so it cause the body to sit apart slightly which led to contact problems. also the required battery to run the new internals was too big to fit in the battery holder properly as it was designed only for a 7.2V. 9) Resale Date and Value if applicable. march 06 $375 10) Optional - Notes and Comments the gun was actually a good gun, despite its reputation. for anyone who is looking to get an l85 but doesnt want the 1k price tag of a star (g&g, ca ones not released yet) its actually is a good rifle. as i found the internals were of good construction, even had metal bushings. all you need to do to make it gameable is replace the spring, you dont wanna go too big tho, getting an 8.4V in the housing requires quite a bit of modding. star l85a2 1) Manufacturer, Model Name star l85a2 2) Date Obtained feb07 3) Initial Cost $1100 4) New or Used used 5) Mechanical Problems non to speak of really. found it does have the same fireing characteristics of a famas where you have to pull the trigger fully and release fully, you cant hal cock it like you could with an ar or the rifle jams and you need to switch to full, of hit the spring release to remedy. i dont see that as a problem with the gun, more so the habits of the user. march 31 6) Esthetic Problems n/a 7) Rounds fired between failures approx 2000 between skruface, r3con1 and myself, with me fireing the total majority. 8) Changes to Internals (upgrades, dates) n/a 9) Resale Date and Value if applicable. n/a 10) Optional - Notes and Comments very impressed with the gun. although the academy has a few features i kinda liked (a1 style furnishings) the gun is impressive in every way, the best ive ever handled to date. well see if it retains its title when i get a systema ptw. gws (redwolf) xm8 1) Manufacturer, Model Name gws (redwolf) xm8 2) Date Obtained feb 06 3) Initial Cost $400 4) New or Used used 5) Mechanical Problems n/a 6) Esthetic Problems all body parts spilt in halves, which degrades body stability and rigidity, also you have a seam along the entire length of the body. no iron sights, "optics" is just a plastic "1X" peep sight. 7) Rounds fired between failures n/a would like to mention that i used cheap walmart bbs once and they jammed in the barrel back to the feed chamber, but thats related to the ammo, not the gun. 8) Changes to Internals (upgrades, dates) silent piston head, pdi 140%, spring. nov 06 9) Resale Date and Value if applicable. n/a 10) Optional - Notes and Comments gun is impressive, has a complete tm mechbox, body is nice, has rubberized accents on the grips, which is a nice feature. ksc usp .45 1) Manufacturer, Model Name ksc usp .45 2) Date Obtained feb 06 3) Initial Cost $275 4) New or Used new 5) Mechanical Problems n/a 6) Esthetic Problems n/a 7) Rounds fired between failures 1000 still going 8) Changes to Internals (upgrades, dates) replaced slide w/ a metal one may 06 9) Resale Date and Value if applicable. n/a 10) Optional - Notes and Comments slide assy i got had manufacturing problems. barrel was not right diameter to allow inner barrel to fit inside, trades arent engraved. but thats not oem parts, so its not too particularily applicable. we dragon b 1) Manufacturer, Model Name we dragon b 2) Date Obtained sept 06 3) Initial Cost $250 4) New or Used used 5) Mechanical Problems saftey became dislodged when gun was dropped, rendering the gun unusable, but it was repairable w/o replacing any parts. gun is a gas hog. i can barley go through a mag on propane. factory mag feed lips are fragile. 6) Esthetic Problems grip saftey (nonfunctional) can become dislodged from body if cought on anything, even your holster upon drawing, not a problem, but its disconcerning. 7) Rounds fired between failures n/a about 500 8) Changes to Internals (upgrades, dates) n/a 9) Resale Date and Value if applicable. n/a 10) Optional - Notes and Comments nice wieght, nice look. like how you can use tm mags/ parts. but gas hog. almost think a tm might be a better buy. |
