maybe high prices of AEG's are a blessing in disguise, especially if age is a concern.

imagine cheap prices + easy access???
how long before more 'airsoft weapons incidents' become commonplace on the front pages of the local news media??

If you look at the costs of paintball compared to airsoft in the long run, airsoft is cheap. I think of it in those terms. By the time you've finished paying for ammo playing paintball, you've just bought yourself an AEG in a few months. Where as airsoft I bought a $800.00 AEG and 4000 rds it costs me $20 and it lasts me for a long time and I generally play every weekend or second weekend depending on my schedule. It's nice when all I have to pay is field fees $10. My buddy spends $400 a month on paintball and that's just ammo and CO2 and field fee of course. Though granted airsoft prices in canada are pretty high but I guess in the end it's how bad do you want to play. I'd love to see more people get into this sport and maybe make airsoft a little more main stream.

mcguyver is right, i thought i was gonna be the 'old' one... lawl at 21 i'm usually the youngest. Which doesn't bother me at all, it's nice to hang out and play with older people. At least you don't have to deal with the daily crap of teenagers! (Altho some people's maturity is questionable during certain games hehe )

All in good fun i say. At the end of the day if your going home with a grin on the face and new friends = victory!
Generally, Pro's get paid to play... I've never met someone that got paid to play airsoft...

sorry for the choice of words and repeating a topic, but if people don't like it then why don't you ignore it. it'll go away faster. and who knows maybe someone that is new has something to offer one of the communities, like a field or even as simple as an idea.

If it's an idea, it's been suggested. Airsoft is played by more people worldwide than paintball. It would take something truely original to be, well, original.

The senior/vet players have talked about this subject for ages. Probably as far back as 2001 when many of you were experiencing grade 4 and 5 and having a great ol'time

It is a good idea. There are other reasons why it has yet to happen.
Someday maybe it might.
Talk to the Senior/Vet players in your neck of the woods (3yrs + playing).

"we are all in deep hibernation, sleep, rest or what ever else you want to call it and we are currently unavailable for any constructive addition to this topic, so after the shits are all settled please leave your name, number and email we'll get back to you as soon as it's humanely possible." BEEEEEEEP..........

P.S if all else fail call Greylocks he'll be more than happy to give you a piece of his mind.

I think we need to focus less on the community and education aspect and more on the fun and playing parts. It is airsoft... not United Way

But then again, Pro Paintballers are decked out like corporate whores and play on speedball fields. They're probably even offensive to woodsballers. They're basically just walking billboards for the industry.

It's like comparing someone who owns a high end sports car to a NASCAR driver.

"it is airsoft" isn't airsoft a community sport though?? how can we focus less on the community..

anyways, no matter what.. airsoft is gonna be an "underground" sport
i think the only way to get new players is to introduce some buddies.
