Having spent 10 years in myself, the woods are a lot different. In Bosnia, Kosovo, and good old Wainwright it was sleeves rolled down due to the bushes. In the Stan it was sometimes too hot for even the combat shirt so our outfit wore the t-shirts. The bayonet was also on the front at start but so many people cut their chins and stuff that like is stated previously it is worn on the side. It all depended on the CSM for us anyway. Hope your safe Mikel and hopefully see you soon my friend!

When you get hot in the field you are just supposed to undo your cuffs. It actually vents quite well.

I find that sleeves down actually keeps my arms cooler, then if directly under sunlight (sleeves up) of course there has to be ventilation, but our combat shirts have that whole in them anyways. If the Bush, why wouldnt you want to be as tactical as possible? You dont want to cam your arms so might as well, sleeves down. Also who the hell likes dense bush bashing with sleeves up lol.

I duno, depends on how hot it is. . . if its bloody humid out im not going to have my sleeves down when I have no one yelling at me, but if im in the bush and their are branches all over the place, sleeves down... Depends on your situation at hand and whos incharge of you lol. But ya so sleeves up, sleeves down all depends on who your with, how hot it is, and were you are.

damn you Lerch, you're making me miss my A2 just a little bit. Not one jam outta jessie-lynn not even on the night shoot in -40 weather. And yes people it's '82 pattern webbing with CADPAT, I wasn't lucky enough to be on a platoon that got the tacvests.

Yeah, you were one of the last platoons to go through with webbing...hell.
Mine got the TV and the new Goretex...fucking good stuff I tell you what. Sucks to be dry out here though, using my dust cap everyday we were on the range.

I lucked out and had goretex and the CADPAT fleece while the rest of the platoon had the IECS fleece. I lost my dust cap somewhere along the way between the vault and Farnham oops...

LOL I noticed that too, the plastic chummy used to secure it shut froze and snapped off so the cover liked to do it's own thing.
