because weights are tactically useless put a dressing oleas/isreali or mbtr battery on the helmet for counterbalance. nobody wants to carry around kit that has one purpose only especially if its to add weight

That's why I came up with my adapters. Our team run with the Sordins and we hated the headband,so had to find a way to put them together. They do slide and lock into the rail,so you can remove the muffs from the helmet in 15 seconds if need be.

If you're going to use precision optics on your helmet, use the correct gear for the job. http://www.explosiveopsgear.com/NVGcounterweight.html http://www.ownthenight.com/catalog/i242.html Last edited by c3sk; December 5th, 2011 at 01:13.. |

I hear what Doc_kristy is saying though... anything you carry on the field is additional weight. The difference is whether it's useful weight, or "dead" weight - the latter having much less use than to simply be a weight.
I'd personally rather carry less weight on me than I need, and having a weight that has a secondary use would be a bonus. I suppose you could say steel plates act as increased ballistic armor to the back of your head? |

Loving all the helmet goodness lately ! Quick question how can one tell apart between Fake/Replica S&S Manta strobe and its real counterpart?

At first the PVS/504Bs I keep getting issued bugged me, but then you get used to the weight, you just ignore it and not notice it. With what the 14s weigh, I can't believe you people actually bother with counterweights. For comparison, the 504Bs weight about 1 lb. 8oz. according to the info in the case, whereas, based on information I can find, the 14s only weight about 12.4oz.
