No. But why you would use the issued tac vest is beyond me... Kinda lacking in the "mag storage department".

it all depends, my issued vest does well when i need something that looks pritty on a parade square! other then that it's FKING useless!!!

not enough room for mags room for mags total of 4 mag pouches on vest, not enough room for belt ammo or 40mm grenades no storage room atal to top it off. most guys that go over to Afganistan in my unit have bought chest rigs like these or that exact model and the cf is allowing them to be used overseas because you require a minimum of 10 mag's, and deppending on mission or situation depends on what ammo you may expel but you alwase want enough, my friends have been in fire fights where they had 16 mags and they were still speed loading mags in battle!
he was at the front of OP Medusa

to face facts the CF Tac Vest is pritty, but not effctive in combat!
if your in a firefight and you gotta dig in your pack for other mags or ammo you are renderd combat inefective for that time and make a pritty target!!

Speaking for myself only i think its SHIT, and i know others who will agree but diffiernt people have different opinions.

Just wanted to add a photo of my team here in Winnipeg, MB. We call our selves the 6th Combat Battle Group (6CBG). It is a shot from last season, so there are only 15 of us in the photo (2 X 6-man infantry sections and an HQ Detatchment). We had 7 additional members that couldn't make it out that OP. This year we are over 30. Finally got my short platoon.

Actually all our headgear comes direct from Logistics-Unicorp. I just have to teach all the new guys how to properly form and wear them. All of our gear is 100% Canadian.

We made them ourselves. Instead of using the Canadian Airborne Regiment cap badges (I am the only member who served) we made a sky blue shield and used a pegasus pin as our unit insignia. We use a locally manufactured SSF patch though.

Photo of myself last year at Operation Hammerstrike II at Copehill Down, Salisbury. Went for a full CF impression, myself and 4 others in Northern Ireland are currently using CADPAT gear as a loadout. Tacvest will soon be "updated" with a few extra bits, namely a small E & E pack and a few extra mag pouches.

BDUs etc are all reproduction. It's very costly and hard to get ANY CADPAT gear over here, so the Frontenac after-market BDUs are pretty much all that are available. Planning on some DZ Tac BDUs sooner rather than later however.
