Put a couple beer cans on the ground in the middle of the road/path.
Wait on the side with a LMG.

Traps would work great for stealthy players too, especially snipers, so they could take down approaching enemies without giving away their position. It would definitely add a lot to a game to have to be aware of tripwires all the time.

I did know about that, I found it what I was looking for ideas, but it is also relatively expensive. I can make one without the grenade for about 20$ +/- 10$ depending on how I go about it. Also I am not sure if that one needs a specific grenade but I intend on allowing most types in mine.

Would anyone be up for an infrared tripwire?

i think you're better off with a pir sensor like the unconventionnal airsoft one , an infrared one would require a mirror on the other side to reflect the ir beam to a phototransistor, and i dont think infrared would work well on a sunny day! you could also do it using a laser and a phototransistor but you will have to align the laser very carefully with a mirror so the beam reflects on the phototransisor, then you rig a relay and a mechanical actuator to trigger the shell.

I think I saw that one before and yah that is a great trap, with a bit of refinement it could be pretty easy and cheap to build.
MOSFET trigger to gun a GBB? LOL, priceless!!!! No, you set up the trip wire in a semi triangle fashion, so the tripwire is 90deg from the trail, goes around a tree, around another and pulls directly backwards on the trigger. Seriously, 48 rounds in 2.5 seconds, and if the tripwire is applied heavily, the gun will cant to the side, spraying 330fps BBs from one side to the other. Might only get an arc of 15-20 degrees, but still perfect.

Sorry I thought it was an AEG. But given it was an AEG the mosfet trigger would work excellent.

I am currently about half done the prototype of my M203 trap I will post pictures when it is done, so far it is looking pretty close to a sawed off M79 without the grip, heheh.

M11A1 would work perfect due to the fact it's taller than it is long, fires from an open bolt, strap the grip and mag to the tree, perfect!
