Looks good. Personally I prefer wood on an AK - but for functionality I'd much prefer to have a vert. grip and some sort of aiming device.

the most tacticality i can see on an AK is plastic furniture.

Blasphemy!

An AK is an expression of naked, rugged, manly beauty. It stands alone, with its own furniture only, in all of its own glory!

It is not to be dressed up in rails and seuped up stocks and grips and painted black!!!! Blasphemy!!!!

Adding all of this to an AK is like painting your ***** pink, tieing a bow around your sack and installing a mini-fridge in your ass.

The RS Type 56 is the closest thing you can get to the real steel AK in the airsoft world. All wood and steel parts are produced by Norinco from the real steel parts. That's like if Colt started making airsoft M4s and M16s, or H&K started making their own airsoft MP5s. Doesn't get much more realistic than that.

Anyway, on the the topic here, I tend to also dislike tactically-equipped Kalashnikov rifles. I don't know. There's just something about this primitive, yet extremely effective hunk of wood and steel that's extremely appealing. Adding polymer parts, rails, etc just seem to ruin that look.

You sir, win.

As for the RealSword Type56 - I HIGHLY doubt it's made from real parts, nor by Norinco. I'm pretty sure it simply uses the same techniques of manufacture, thats it. Too bad they only make Chinese models though. I'd love for them to make a true Soviet AKMS copy, all hardened steel, baked on finish, and laminated plywood.

Polymer grips, such as on the AK-74M and higher, are acceptable. That's the limit, more or less. Want to accessorize? POSP scope, or a GP25/GP30. Kobra red dot for the 100 series perhaps. You get the idea. No stupid weaver rails with aimpoints, or even worse, Tasco scopes.

The review of the T-56 on Redwolf, and other stuff I've read on them (including the detailed review here on ASC) suggests that all the wood (except grip) and steel start life as real-steel Norinco-produced parts on the same assembly lines. Only the internal rails and parts of the real steel counterparts aren't there.

Regardless though, it's one hell of a gun. Mine is being shipped to me today. I should have it by the end of next week at latest. Can't wait!

So you're saying I should remove the bow or the mini-fridge? Cause you wouldn't believe how long it took me to fit that thing in there.

As for Tactikool AKs I have to admit I like 'em.

Think that you did a great job, now you need a holo sight and a m203.

As for all you guys that don't like it, remember its not yours. I have make a complete poly and metal. Now I am working on something with wood and metal.

But I think when you guys finally see what I am making you will hate that too.

So once again thats a nice ak-47 advanced keep up the good work.

Yeah, that's why you see so many Ex-Delta PSD guys using aimpoints, and EOTechs on their AKs, right?

Purists need to spend some time with a REAL ak, in the REAL shit. Wouldn't be surprised if you find yerselves stocking up on visine.

An Ak with rails is like a fat chick in a bikini.
