To add to Safx's comment about WA..
Not all WAs are perfect, and they're VERY fucking hard to find parts for. >_<! |

hey .. I had the same problem with mine. .. I just took the mag top off and stretched the spring slightly. . .the springs are pretty weak. . I would do that before spending money on a slide catch. . .but check to see if it's worn down. .. like it was said above. . soft metal and the little bump where it catches might be worn down.

Well, now that this post is back in play, anyone know where i can get a disconnector (pretty much the most difficult part to find EVER) for it?
Thanks.

I just bought a WE 1911 and I'm having the same problem of the slide not locking back. The spring in the mag is too weak to push the slide catch up and lock. I simply took my mag apart. . .stretched the spring slightly. . and it seemed to fix the problem. Don't stretch it too much or it might fire bb's out after loading. I haven't run into any firing issues because of this.

Also what can be done is:
Take a pen or pencil, put the end of it thorough the horizontal part of the spring, pull it up over the speedloader feed hole, put a bb or 2 inside and let the spring go back. This will give you better spring tension.

I have the WE Luger, and as far as quality goes, it seems to be an excellent gun. The cosmetics are top notch, and the metal seems quite durable. And the gun shoots around 320 fps stock, and shoots very accurately and consistently too.
The only real problem with it is the mag developed a leak around its base about a week after I got it (had fired maybe 20 mags at the time). My next GBB will be a WE Hi-Capa 5.1. They have a nice aluminum slide and are 100% compatible with TM and even can use TM mags. Even if I have to replace all the internals with aftermarket TM parts (more than likely aftermarket high-performance parts), it will still be cheaper than a new stock plastic TM.

It's some sort of heavy-as-hell metal, maybe pot metal, not sure. |

The action complete slide is a Taiwan made
cheapo for $60 US. Any of the big asian sellers should have it— UNC, WGC etc. May be sold out now though... Also try eHobby on eBay. Haha Kos, nothing is perfect but my WA's have not let me down. The parts are limited runs ususaly because WA makes so many new models. If you need a specific part, let me know and I'll try to point you to a store. |

Maybe that version is different, who knows. I've handled 2 WE 5.1's that were the frickin' heavy slide.

Well, I've messaged mopic about that 5.1 and I want to get it. If he actually gets back in touch with me this time and I get it, I'll be sure to let you guys know.
One way or another though, I think that this gun is an awesome deal for that price. Even if it came to having to install a high quality metal slide down the road, it would still be worth it. PIC EDITED OUT

Does look nice...
And the price does too. Just realized it might not be the best idea to talk about it, much less post pictures about it. This IS outside the classifieds area of course! |

Yeah, I edited the pic out. But then again, it's not a "for sale" thread, and everyone and their dog knows mopic is one of the main sellers.

I just sent payment for the WE Hi-Capa 5.1. If it gets shipping tomorrow morning as was promised, I should have it by Friday, or Monday at the very latest. I'll post a review of it when I get it and note whether the slide is heavy or aluminum.
