I don't really like the L85, but the L86 is hot shit.

Aww damn...I just changed my shorts and here I go creamin' myself...

Anyways, two things:
One, the vertical grip on the rear stock of the L86 A2 is there for comfort while using the bipod in an SF role. Think about, would you rather stick your arm our in front of you and hold the foregrip? Or would you rather have you arm under you and across holding the vertical grip? Plus if your arm is under you, you can rest on it and use for support of your body.
Two, the L85 A2 AFV has a short mag because it's made for crews (ya know, AFV...Armoured Fighting Vehicle). Normally that'd be the one to see with iron sights, but whatever. The short mag makes it easier to move inside a turret/crew compartment.

Oh baby! The L-85 mags are 120 rounds and ALL m16 mags fit.. Meaning, get the L-86 and get a M16 boxmag but man you can even store a combination tool in the pistol grip.. Once they come out I'm for sure getting my hands on one I'll be the one who writes a review

Now would be a good time to stock up on DPM for the Gear Sales thread...

Curiously enough, if you take the sine of 666°, you get 0.80901699, which is one half of negative phi, or perhaps what one might call the "anti-phi" / It is opposite of balance and harmony ergo: chaos and disharmony.

Hey, so I was wondering.. Where the battery goes in these. I looked at the normal L85 firgured it would be foregrip, then saw the support and the foregrip is smaller and wouldnt really fit a large battery (witch is gay if its support!) AND then I saw the AFV, with no OD foregrip so, someone fill me in? Sorry if this is a silly question, but it got me wondering...

Hmm, good question BawBag. Possibly in the foregrip, with the exception of short one with the vert grip in the front. That one might run off a stick battery maybe. I guess we'll just have to wait til they are released, or until more info is found. I remember the custom L85 shorty model on airsoft dynamics I believe, had a mini batt that was permamently (sp?) fitted into the pistol grip. Hopefully that is not the case with these.

WOW!

Ill bet the boys over on UKAN are freaking out over this news.

Ok Ive just been over at UKAN reading up on whats going on with this. I must say these plastic mechboxs look like shit, 190% spring my ass. Im vary skeptical.

Edit: After thinking about it for a minute. Ah WTF..... you give me a full metal body and SUSAT but put in a plastic mechbox! That just doesnt make any sense.

did you ever think about the buttstock? there's plenty of space under the chin rest to fit a large battery, and it would explain the carbine's battery situation.
