Made in Canada/US by reputable company "x", rated "x", FDA approved, Manufacturers specifications followed, good to go.

A friend of mine just bought a laser that lights matches and pops balloons from across the room in seconds. Now he doesn't even play airsoft but obviously you CAN purchase harmful lasers. Hopefully no one is dumb enough to use such a laser for airsoft but the danger is there.

One big factor here is not that the laser is supposedly safe, it is if the person using it is safe. Visible lasers have one huge safety feature over non visible and that is when your blasted in the lookers you can close your eyes, turn your head, cover your eyes with your hand. You don't get any of those options with non visible.
Check your information again it will tell you that ALL lasers are safety rated for a specific amount of time/exposure which is very short when your talking eyes were talking single digit seconds

The IR illuminator is 30mW, which is basicly a flashlight, a diffused laser. Quote:

yes the 2nd link is the peq15 with .6 and 25 the other one is the peq 2A the predecessor, I guess I was looking at the Laser Power output on the peq 2a.
However, it's a rather huge difference between class 1 "civilian legal" illuminators vs the military grade ones: https://tnvc.com/shop/category/class...frared-lasers/

That is why they have low power lockouts on them that prevent the laser from being set to high power easily.
The low power settings on those IR lasers are well below class 1 limits.
