another 80fps and thats a firearm.
you can use a bolt action up to 450fps on .20 bb's
500 with lvl two as coach said witu the approval of the field and the host, and should u ever do somethin dumb or cause an injury you can be sure you wont be shootin 500 again.
your gonna need to either find a mod to reduce the fps or go hpa so you can adjust it

do you have the manual for your gun?
A quick search shows the below thay i copied from a website.

"This gun features an adjustable FPS feature in the bolt. There is a screw which adjusts the tension on the hammer spring that releases the gas from the mag."

also you could run it on duster gas
On Propane:550-750fps
On Duster gas:300-550fps youll still need to adjust the fps but you can get it down to 450 on duster with the stock parts as you can see.
it should show you in the manual how to adjust the fps.
and as you see it maxes out at 750 fps on.20 on propane so even atvmax velocity it isnt a firearm, you need about 785 on .20 to make 5.7 joules

Btw, level 2 certification does not extend to gas/HPA powered rifles. Currently it's only for bolt action rifles only. There has been some discussion about adapting to gas/HPA but the inconsistency and the ability to crank up the psi after chrony'ing.

And Hectic, use the damn edit button!

will do coach lol, i know i blab sometimes, bit of a scatter brain.
didnt realise gas bolt actions didnt fall into the bolt action catagory, so looks like hes stuck with 450 or is it 400?
Edit, i guess i didnt know cause noone uses gas to snipe lol
that being said would that apply to the new aps apm50 it is gas but its gas in shell so it isnt adjustable and should be prety consistant shot to shot?

Still ghey when you flip it up to reach for a CO2 cartridge. It'd be open eventually. lol

Ehh… apparently there's a tension screw somewhere on the bolt for the spring. I'll look tonight when I get home and check… if not I'll have to find out what kind of spring it uses and get a replacement.

Orrrrrr would duster gas help? I know it's not as compressed, so that would drop the FPS as well...

yes i said both those things in the same post lol, not sure how much duster will reduce the fps and also i only see one person mention the adjustable fps so i cant confirm it but you have the rifle so you can check it out, if you have adjustable fps thats sweet if you dont have then duster will reduce it but by how much is hard to say without testing

I've located two sites both people (different people of course) but they both mention this screw, so I should be able to find it. Aside from that, I need some help finding one other object: a threaded outer barrel for the G96. The one i found mentioned in the one post was a "Tango Down style steel barrel" but googling that gets no hits. Any suggestions?

i have read that Tanaka m700 barrels fit but i also read the chamber is a different design so im not sure if they fit or dont youll have to search around.
to be honest tho the gun is prety long as is adding a silencer wont help with noise much and most aftermarket barrels are heavy as fack compared to stock.
if you really need a threaded barrel grab a thread adapter for a tanaka or a vsr or an l96 and use some jbweld to fix ot into the eng of the barrel after you remove the stock end cap, if it has an end cap if not youll have to cut the end off to create the opening to put tue threar adapter in then jbweld it
id worry more about gettin shooting low enough to game first befor i go dumping cash and time tryin to customize it in ways that may make sellin it hard

Duster will drop your fps significantly. It may even drop it too far below

Well I'm definitely am going to go through with the HPA mod for the magazines, already found a place to drill and tap the mags, I found a list of parts needed, and am working on a 3D build to design how I will build it. As for the barrel, I guess a silencer really isn't what I'm after it's actually the L96 flash hider :P

so the same will apply either search around to confirm that the tanaka barrels will fit or just pick up the threaded muzzle adapter for a tanaka or a l96 or vsr and mod the gun a bit an jbweld it into the outter barrel
good luck and post up in the upgrades and modification section when you do the mods so we can all see wht you do and how it turns out
