Clothing stores at 17 Wing is much different then clothing stores at say CFB Shilo. Many CF members from the Winnipeg area can asure you of that.

I'm just wondering.. But don't all CF clothing stores get somewhat the same amout to give out. No reason for one place to have junk gen1 CADPAT and others Gen3...

That is correct. Accept since it's run by air force ninnies. They get all the good stuff while we get the shaft. The army has been trying countless times to sort such thing out for many years. But to no avail. Thats why all the Airforce guys in Winnipeg have Cadpad rain suits while us combat soldiers still have the old rubber ones. :banghead:

The Air Force paid for their CADPAT raingear out of their own funds, not out of the Cloth The Soldier program. So that CADPAT raingear is Air Force issue only. The Army has its own CADPAT raingear being made right now, an theres even a AR/Desert Raingear issued to some troops in Afghanistan.
Suck it up, an stop whining. Its not like you need all the high speed new CADPAT gear right now to train in Shilo. If you want good raingear, buy a stealth suit an wear it under your CADPAT uniform. I've been in the Army 3 years, an I've used all the old kit, an all the new kit. I've survived. My brother has been Reg Force Infantry for almost 3 years, he's used the old kit, an the new kit; he's survived. Same with many other soldiers. |

I'm not complaining. I was just trying to get the point across that all sorts of kit is issued from 17 wing. New and old. I love my kit and it works excellent. It's just hard to get some of it is all. It only took me 1 1/2 months to get my 2nd pair of combat boots during BMQ/SQ. Which is alright. Ruck up and soldier on right?

You only got issued one pair of boots when you first got kitted out? Why? Not enough boots in your size instock or?
If you guys are getting used/faded kit from 17 Wing, why not goto clothing stores at CFB Shilo? Bringing up the Air Force issue CADPAT raingear, what was the point of that; it is not something the Army gets. |

I hate to break in, in the middle of all this, but i was only issues one pair or cbt. boots from 17 wing as well. (I'm reserve infantry) as well as my friend who has been in for a year, and still has yet to get a second pair issued. Stocks always seem low at 17 wing. any other thoughts?

mctaz, what was the point of typing that in italian when only a handful of people can read it..
When you join up, you should be issued two pairs of MKIII Combat Boots. If 17 Wing is out of stock in your size, they should order them in. If 17 Wing is f*ckin you guys over, complain about it an/or goto Clothing Stores on CFB Shilo, they got everything there. |
