lulz, I'm in Bermuda till late August, and my CC doesn't work for PayPal (which is the only option for the bright-strike site). I'll chip once I get back, if someone wants to hold a set for me.

... hold... my balls?

Reading up on those balls, they are weighted in the bottom and always finish rolling light side up. They wobble when they roll too, added distraction.

Just take note of liability issues. If someone gets hurt, the user and the field owner/operator could be held liable for any damage to person or property.
I don't like using the real things even at work. I once got a front row seat to watch a professional doorkicker lose his entire hand to one. Picking up the pieces was pretty gross.
These sound promising.

Edit: Look up some Youtube vids for bear bangers. YouTube - bear banger
They detonate like, fifty feet away from the ignition point and this guy's mic is still ringing! I wonder what happens if they're fired at a wall instead of open sky. Detonate on impact? And finding the decibel level of these things would be handy. Not on Wikipedia...

Edit #2: Aha. A whopping 115dB. http://www.macecanada.com/canada/wil...rbangers15.htm

Simulated? I've seen videos of Swiss (I think is was Swiss) airsofters playing along side fireworks (nothing like an explosion over head to get your goose going). I know pyros (smokes and flashbangs mainly) are commonly used in UK games (or atleast they used to be). I know of pyro manufacturer fanboys in the UK. Sounds like good times across the pond.

I don't know if the fireworks restrictions are as loose wherever you are but I live in central B.C. and fireworks are easily accessible, look for ones called "sonic bangers" they sound like bear bangers, actually just like the above posted link, need a lighter though, launches an airborne banger about 250'. They cost about a buck each. I used some at out last Milsim and it added more depth to the game. Of course you don't launch it AT people or detonate it close proximity to anybody. making a bang that loud would probably cause some damage.

They are listed on this site as "Tactical Balls."

Oh geez, they even have Tactical Balls t-shirts. Must ... resist!

seems ok, but they don't seem to be bright enough, I'm still waiting for somthing that will emitt a much brighter light for a split second along with a load enough noise to make the baddies jump. This is the right direction though.

The closest thing we have to flashbang is Airbang fireworks put into a grenade type container that won't send shrapnell around. It produce a bang powerfull enought to make people in a small room disy and possibly hangry/hurt.

IMO, you can't have a safe flashbang to be used with unprotected people. The reason a flashbang is used, is to desorient, not to make a cool POP sound and a flash.

Unless we are playing a game with a lot of roleplay involved, I'll never pretend to be desoriented by a weak flash and quiet pop. I prefer to fear the Airbang grenade and wear hear protection. That's why I bought Peltor soundtraps.

He held on to it too long. Very, very nasty crap. I have seen them malfunction also. An operator had two in his pants cargo pocket and one went off accidentally. Luckily the other did not. Took a chunk out of his leg. Once again I'd like to warn all these young folks about the dangers of pyrotechnics. THEY ARE NOT TOYS like your guns are. Explosives mean business, and when something goes wrong with them you generally don't wind up laughing about it with your chums after the game. And again, there's liability involved.
