Hey Guys,

Starting a seal like loadout but stuck with a question.

What do you guys use as inserts for a PACA. Some kind of foam? If so what type cause i don't want to use something with a hi grade of insulation.

Thx

Fubar

Foam is easy and light. But it look weird and it's hot.

I use real kevlar. But I also used 1000D cordura cut to shape and layered them up to the apropriate thickness. Same weight and feel of real kevlar. And your vest does not have that foamy look and feel when worn.

My try at something old-school:

Woodland BDU's/Boonie, Sage gloves, sniper scrim, LC2 LBE, Addison jungle boots, etc.

Still need a medium ALICE ruck and I'm planning on switching out my M16A4 for an M733 soon.

Old school as in what year?
They didn't have ESS or those kind of styles in old school times.
Holy shit... Pajamas are the new camo with authentic worn boxers?!

When did SEALs ever use M733's?
Stick with a MP5, or an original M4.. or depending what year you are doing an impression of.

They used M16a2 Carbines or M727,M723... back in the 90's. I'm guessing the ESS's were for eye protection and you cant skip out on eye protection lol.

The SF's didn't use M733's in Vietnam... They used XM177 E1 and E2.
The M733 was used after the Vietnam war because it was made after the war.

You are right SINN, SEALs did use M733. (After VN) I was wrong on my first post.

JohnGol10: Post the year you're trying to do an impression of, that way we could help you on accurate gear for your impression..

The point of impression is to use accurate gear/guns to make your impression look authentic.
As WF said before, just because you have things that look like SEAL or SF doesn't mean it's exact..
This isn't directed to anyone, but please be sure you have some accurate photos
(background scene, accurate gear and gun suited for the op = excellent impression photo.)

ESS' are the only eye pro I have as of now... lol. And my friend decided that it would be a good time to back up just as we were taking the picture. :/
