I think both options are viable.

You can have the handstop to prevent you from grabbing the muzzle, or have it the other way, to help you index your gun the same way everytime.

There is no right or wrong direction for use of a hand-stop. Really depends on the user preference and how it is being utilized.

I'm an AK purist at times but that is pretty sexy.
Also want that Kalash DVD.

Short gun... handstop to the fore... as you want to reach as far forward on the gun as possible .. without cooking your fingers..

long gun... handstop the rear.. as an index to reproduce a predictable grip on a fore end with a lot of space on it. you want your hand to be placed in the same location every time.

Tempered with personal preference of course..

Pretty much what Brian said as far as why I installed it like that goes(I ran that hand stop on my "PDW"-sized M4 for a while: http://www.pbase.com/racingmaniac/image/130328013, then I went to AFG on that: http://www.pbase.com/racingmaniac/image/139857719). Though Gear Sectors' design is not that comfortable doing it my way at the moment...I am also toying with the idea of cutting off the MOE RVG I have around for a custom one...Sticking with AFG2 for now...

How is welding to a pot metal bolt carrier going to work though....not sure I want to attempt that. I am hoping for RA-Tech to make a steel bolt carrier and I'll do more shit on that....first though I have to figure out how to put a LCT X47 selector on this...

yup.. but.... if you are running a short gun and have the sling off the front end.. you have to watch that the sling does not get in front of the muzzle...

I like it!

Gazed at it so much that I noticed your FH556-212 is upside down.

I can't get it to go any different position - if you can figure out how, it would be much appreciated.

I would love to have the Surefire markings facing upwards LOL
