You don't ruin the protection of the basejump though. How can you if you mod it?
I just shaved off the front, and filled in the holes with JB weld.
Nothing changed but looks and a bit of weight.

The headloc system is still reliable.

I believe what Conker is trying to say (he may want to clarify) is that the shell might be compromised with the removed material....much like a cracked windshield in a car.

Base jump is plastic and bump carbon is carbon fibre

Basejump is made out of some plastic and has an integrated NVG shroud.
Carbon is made out of carbon fiber, has 3-hole pattern for whatever NVG shroud you want and costs 600$ more.

That's pretty much it.

The base jump is made out of plastic with a permanent shroud, as the carbon is made out of carbon fibre, stronger material, light, and also you can mount any shroud you want on it.

Meh 600 isn't to bad considering what these guys and myself plan to put into a helmet. I already have a CG634 and put a deposit down on PanzerGrenadier's BaseJump he had for sale. When you pay for real steel equipment you get real steel durability.
