But I cant figure out how to get this weird part back in its like a u shaped clip/spring with a v shaped notch sticking out on one side, I think maybe it has something to do with the slide release? its not shown on the parts diagram...
You mean the slide lock spring?
Refer to the circled part of the diagram:
TMG17Diagram.jpg

That's held in by a pin at the bottom of your front chasis. You need to take out your front chasis in order to get it back in there....

I can't see why you have that piece loose if you were just fooling around with the hop unit though....

I do like breathing better though. It saves lives...

THe pin is located where the left whole is where the arrow is pointing.....
It just pivots so that the "v-shaped" side sits parallel to the inner chasis (flat not horizontal like in the picture)

I took everything out of the stock frame and put it in a guarder frame, I'll post pictures when I'm satisfied with the results.

I'm also having trouble putting the mag catch spring back.

I still don't understand how that thing sits?

Mag catch spring and that thingy are the only thing stopping me from testing the gun lol.

Try this video out. It's a disassembly, but you should be able to see how the parts go back in.

Just tape the slide lock spring to the chasis so that it doesn't come loose when you are putting the chassis back together. Make sure that it is parralel to the chasis and not horizontal.

For the magazine catch, crimp it andslide it off the mag catch. There is a ridge inside the mag catch that it hangs onto. Remove the mag catch itself.
Then take a pair of tweezers and pull it out.

Reverse the step to get it back in there....

I got it out but getting it back in is the tricky part.

I don't have the pin for the slide lock spring (part # 18C-38) but I have contacted tokyo model company about ordering another.

What do you suggest I do in the mean time? Should I just leave it out of the frame or what?

I don't think you can get that part separately.
For such a small piece, it almost seems like a waste of money going overseas for it.

My suggestion is to just look for a pin that will fit that hole. Like a thumb tac or something similar. I use a nail from my local hardware store and just cut it length as a replacement. Works great....

You need that spring to apply pressure to the slide lock to actually prevent the slide from shooting off your gun. So I don't think you have no other option than to source a replacement....

I found a 5/64 inch drillbit which I have permission to cut off, it fits almost perfectly but it has room to move kind of freely you know? Should it be a snug fit, like stay still? Because I can order a 6/64 inch rod from mcmaster & carr for like 3 bucks and cut it down if it needs to be snug.

It should be snug. It can be super tight if you want it too. The reason why you lost it is becaise it was too loose. Dont worry about the spring. it can easily be inserted and it wont hinder the performance. All the spring does in regards to the pin is to rotate around it as needed. as long as that functionality of the spring is not impeded by the pin your using, you're ok.

The pin can be snug to the chasis but the spring must be able to move freely.

Hmm, I could use superglue to hold it in? or should I just buy the pin.. I kinda wanna get this finished today though so I can test the gun... so all this pin thing does is hold the middle of that v shaped spring right?

Well you could superglue it in if you want. But I guarantee you that you will run into fitment issues once yo mount the chasis to the frame if you do a sloppy job of gluing....

I say just get a nail of appropriate size and then just use that. I don't think it necessary for you to glue things together....

I got it in after I cut it.

Still just having problems putting in the magazine catch spring. Some other guy said it took him 3 days >.<

Wish it was as simple as the KSC mag spring.

Other than that my build is complete.
