A full black G36 still has plastic receiver anyways (unlike the M4). So in this aspect I wouldn't mind going for the SRC.

Keep in mind though, shipping from 007 is around 65/80 (ground/air).

not if we are talking about the CA ones. and lets be real about this, one should ONLY buy a CA G36.

I don't understand

Why people complain about the cost of their TOYs for their HOBBY..

it costs what is costs... if someone has something you want.. you either pay the price or don't .. and buy something else.

No one is entitled to low cost airsoft guns.

Selling AS guns is not a Public Service.. the people that choose to do it do it for PROFIT .. as much as they can make and as much as the market can tolerate.

NO ONE is forcing you to pay

If people are complaining about the price .. and buying anyway.. then the price is about right.

it's really hard choice for me lol
Last CA G36 I bought was 425$ new, this summer. You need to develop relationships with importers, but that comes with time.

Ultimatly, as a collector, I see the shift towards clearsoft as very worrying since people aren't buying a (near) perfect replica, they're buying a shape.

To me, correct sizing, finish and trades add so much to the experience.

Yeah, I feel the same with regards to women.

Jokes aside, CA, TM, or nothing. For a G36, though.

IIRC, the STAR version was decent, but I haven't handled a lot of ARES products since the split.

What people don't understand about China goods and the pricing is this:

1) Shipping costs are the same, a $100USD box that weighs 4KG will cost the same to ship as a $400USD box, in most cases shipping can be half or more of the gun value.

2) BuyAirsoft/CAS & Mark Anderson raised the price of China goods, mostly because they were first buying from the US but Anderson maintained the price once he sourced from Asia probably cause the 1st Generation China guns he was importing were just full of lemons

3) "Import Costs" vary it all depends on the license holder, or none @ all if they ARE the license holder, as for smugglers you can call it a "risk" fee

4) Time, still takes JUST as long for goods to arrive, with restrictions on higher end items you could be importing it's generally speaking, not worth it

Anywho I think this should be moved to the restricted section if we're going to continue talking about this, but please refer to Brian Ms thread that's been stickied, "Gun Buyer Blues"

As for the original topic, given the fact that SRC has had a poor track record for mid-range products I would be hesitant & want to see a reliability test. Go look on RedWolf or WGC they don't even carry SRC anymore cause it was that bad, I heard they were going to release a steel MP5 but that hasn't happened yet & won't happen for Canada either

With the new generation of China airsoft the bar has been raised, unless the new SRCs have something similar or better to offer the overall market should be fine, but the G36 is an exception

Never handled much of the STAR stuff, but from what I heard about STAR stuff was that it's really light and I could say the same with ARES LMGs like the MK43 as for their SCAR EGLM versions those feel nice

I read that CA makes the best quality g36 but must have a re-wiring job. It feels extremely solid VS TM and does not wobble.

Having had first hand experience with G36s from TM, CA, ARES (not STAR) and ECHO/JG, I disagree, one should not only buy CA for G36s.

I consider CA36 a good G36 and ARES36 a somewhat better G36 in terms of features. Either one would make for a good choice, though I would personally take ARES due to the quick spring change and microswitch trigger.

Also, the last CA36 I saw also wasn't put together well. Though I can't be sure if that was the CA or the owner's fault, the type of faults makes me think CA's QA process is slipping again because of their sheer output.

I can't fairly comment on the SRC one way or the other, though I would say that colourful internals are redundant when they aren't used to code differences that can't be readily discerned by eye (i.e. a spring's power). But people like bling, I guess.

I have a STAR 249 on the bench right now, bulding it back up to an ARES mk46's specs, there's plenty of room to add weights.

I have a Star Mk43 on my bench and it's a very well engineered gun with LOTS of room if you wanted to add weight.

I might just do that.
