Well I got my comtac replica
doesn't work on my GP68 with the cavalvy U64 connector
works on the single pin talkabout
Anyway this is freakin neat, I'm typing here and my keyboard is REALLY loud, excellent amplification and the dual speakers in each earpiece makes for just incredible directional awareness. Lots of white noise though...

lol Your head/ears will start to hurt when you're in game. Then result a headache. The fake leather and all doesn't feel right.

Sounds like a personal problem; my ears/head felt fine.

$550 is not neccessary. My teamates used to run Comtac replica (I still have a replica one I use).

They switched to Sordin Surpremes purchased from http://www.srstactical.ca/ (he advertised on ASC before). He actually lives 5 minutes away from me so I should go get a new headset eventually as well.

The guy had real steel Comtacs in stock as well and after comparing them in person, the Sordins were actually better for sound quality. They are only $220-$270. If you are paying $550 because you want a boom mic model - don't bother. The non-mic'd Sordin Surpremes have a mic-in port so you can just hook up any other microphone that you want. In fact, it gives you more choice and you can just spend $20 on a decent mic separately.

BTW, the sound on a real Sordin or Comtac (I prefer Sordins as said earlier) is miles ahead of the replica Comtacs...and the battery life is many, many times longer!!! Replica Comtacs will last me one or two games on two AAs only. The Sordins run on one AA and lasted over 20 games.

That is exactly the reason why I need the real ones lol
How do you hookup an MSA sordin headset to a motorola GP68 radio?
