LOL some of you guys really need to get laid.

First of all, I never said I was taking the gun on walks to kill or hurt animals. I have a small dog and if she is with me and we see a skunk or porcupine, I would like it to stay away. I joined this forum precisely because I was unfamiliar with these guns and was looking for advice, not for people to jump to conclusions.

Deterring other animals means ones that come onto my property that I would rather didnt.

The walks I referred to are practically in the middle of nowhere. There arent other people on the property, since it is mine - a very, very large wild area.

I am entertaining this gun because it looks like it would be fun to use shooting targets as well as deterring small animals that get too close. It seemed like a good dual purpose item to own and fun to use. Maybe Im wrong.

1. I got laid last night and the night before that so I doubt that's an issue.

2. You didn't explain yourself very well in your opening post to this thread.

3. You'll need more than an airsoft rifle if you want to keep intruding skunks and porcupines off of your property.

4. Skunks and porcupines are nocturnal. You'll most likely be shooting them in the dark. You might shoot your dog too.

Um, why do I have to? It says this newb part of the forum is specifically for questions where retards wont jump down your throat. And isnt the onus on me to know my ethical and legal parameters? Because I didnt specify Im not a sadistic asshole that wants to go around hurting small animals means it is my fault that some loser thought I was? Good logic there.

Well if I mistakenly shoot a dog on a leash a foot from my leg, instead of a skunk ten feet away in the bush, then I probably shouldnt be buying any type of gun now shouldnt I? Thanks for your concern though.

With my C99B the squirrel population/ groundhog/ raccoon/ any other animal but birds (we don't mind them) have dropped drastically.

Pellets guns are very affective I'd say compared to airsoft guns as the ammo you use is actually metal, but it depends on the type of pellets you get.

I use hollow point pellets which intheory rips open the skin of the target, BUT these don't always work as animals will realize after a while what you are doing and allow their fur to grow out more so it is tougher to penetrate the skin.

I'll all else fails buy a real gun that will almost always guarentee a kill.

Hey Mike Oxlarge, I don't think your sadistic or anything like that. Seriously, don't bother with purchasing an airsoft gun. They are intended for gaming and to a much lesser extent target shooting.

However, you were asking about a full auto airsoft gun to scare away small nocturnal animals during long walks in the bush with your leashed dog. This doesn't sound like a good idea at all.

Buy a real pellet gun. They're:

- Less than 1/3rd the cost of airsoft
- 10x more accurate
- Carry up to 9 times more energy to punch in to your target

For your requirements, airsoft is your only real viable choice if you must absolutely have a full auto gun, however, given the issues I've indicated above, an airsoft gun does not carry nearly enough energy to seriously wound or maim a pest (except for maybe a cockroach.) Firing almost any airsoft gun at an animal would do nothing more than to cause it unnecessary pain and suffering.
