I'd pick the Kalash/DBoys' AK variants over TM any day, like pus said it's an older design. You get mostly steel, nylon and wood instead of shiny ABS plastic externals, it's literally built like a tank, no creeks or bending at all, SOLID SOLID SOLID. With the folding stock extended, you can literally pick the gun up by the barrel and use it to beat hookers. More recent versions are coming out with different internals, such as polycarbonate nozzles instead of ABS, which mean they are improving designs (or VFC is improving, and they are just copying).

This should be the marketing gimmick to end all marketing gimmicks.

Consider perhaps the Classic Army SLR-105. It's their AK74 model; I own one and it's been a great performer for years. However you'll need to replace the piston ($15) out of the box.
