The padded 2 point sling you show me doesn't look that much different than the generic 2 point sling that I have used before (and now reside in a dark corner somwhere). What makes it good?
On top of what has been said, the VCAS mounts to the side of the firearm, not the bottom like a fixed two point sling.

This make a big difference in how the firearm hangs on you. With the VCAS it hangs in front, muzzle down in a ready position.

With fixed two point slings they are good for sling the rifle over your shoulder basically. If you try to hang it the same way, it will flip upside down, because they mount to the bottom of the firearms.

I think the MS2 is overrated. I've bought one in Novemeber 08 direct from Magpul and it arrived just last thursday. The sling should be wider or include some kind of padding as the smaller width cord really can bite into your shoulder and ribs if worn without a vest.

The retention pull loop is counter intuititve. Instead of pulling forward towards the weapon to tighten the slack it loosens the slack. It is very difficult (perhaps not broken in) to tighten the sling back up in 2 pt configuration.

What is good/and bad is the lock jaw, it won't come free but is difficult to to mount onto the forward position on your rifle without 2 hands. a HK clip would have been better and I'm probably going ot remove the jaw for one.

My VTAC sling clost 25,00 CAD. has none of the issues I have with the MS2 and with the addition of a HK clip and a small D ring it functions exactly like a MS2.

Another excellent 1 to 2 points convertable sling is the EMDOM sling.

Yes...I'd agree with you to a point, but comfort is subjective and depends largely upon the wearer...different folks = different strokes and it's comfortable for me.

Agreed, but you should be able to get used to it after awhile...not a big deal IMHO. Yes, it's tight when new.

I have a fixed "CQD-type" front sling loop on my rifle and it's no trouble at all to fire the lock jaw onto it with one hand. If you have a swivel or some other form of movable mounting system then I can definitely see your point.

Whatever works for you. Slings are typically a personal choice and there's no real "right answer" out there. Hell, if I had a slightly different setup, I'd most probably be sporting a VCAS on my rifle as well...they are that good IMHO! My comments were merely offered as food for thought but in the end, it's up to the individual.
