What fps do you run at? And what spring?

I've had alot of success with sorbo pads on a 120 spring at a lower fps (-420), but they are almost useless at dampening sound on my 150 spring that runs at roughly 480fps, or so I've found.

I'm at 440 and it's not bad, but I need a thicker pad, I'm using one of the old AEG ones, I need a 5mm lol

I've got these ones: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1186

They work like a charm, and if you need more width, simply pop another one on top.

Neat, but Amos was going to get us 2 custom made
I'd rather have one solid piece due to the design of our cylinder head, which I still have to mod both lol

What's so special about your cylinder head?

it's the aero style cylinder head, that has an O-ring groove around the outside, and the aero profile continues all the way right to that groove. So I'm facing off the cylinder head to the depth of that groove to give us a nice flat spot to mount the sorbo pad

aaaaand I just found a pic, this is an L96 head but it's the same inside end as the VSR

I had the chance to work on a short-stroked VSR-10 bolt.

There is a good 2" of material that could be used to remove the funnel.

I have also talked with a few local snipers. They use all 3 pads from that kit you linked on a stock-type cylinder head. The gun is dead silent shooting 450 right on the spot. (from a 10' distance, the BB made more noise in the air than the rifle itself)

I got mine machined similar to that to improve the airflow, but it doesn't compare to yours, very nice.

That is interesting, I'll have to try all 3 when I get back home, thanks for the tip.

My rifle used to be dead silent from 10' away without the sorbo pad lol

I've found with comparing aftermarket springs with the stock spring, the stock spring is the weakest and loudest, almost hurt my ear, while my 150 spring was 50% quieter and my 120 was dead silent.
The noise has to do alot with the deign of the spring.

I'm using the same spring, it just got louder because my o-rings wore away and my piston head was directly hitting my cylinder head, that's why I'm switching to sorbo

I was never fond of the PDI o-ring system... both times I tried them, I got a jammed gun in the middle of a game with some rubber pieces spitting out the barrel... And yes I did double re-check and re-glued the rings on installation... steel epoxy STILL broke off.

So the next one will be PSS10 only... or PSS2-T96 if I feel like a huge gun again...

Once you put $1400 into a rifle you don't want anyone to use it
