u.u' for the record, I already had metal bushings+bevel bearings and shims lmao, just wanting to swap out the temporary cheapo XYTs, which are there just to fill in the spaces. It's a good point on the slide thingy, but the first one only broke because of carelessness... Being TMs, they don't usually break, some reviews, I think one on here, said it lasted 15k rds without a hiccup.
*sigh* should have kept to one gun.

shit gets too expensive when I spend money on stuff other than airsoft LOL. I'm not going to have another sniper rifle for a llloooonnnnnggggg time... I'm only good with one when I plink in the basement. And I can't afford to keep those XYTs in there for much longer, last time I opened it after about 1000 rds of plinking, it was like someone dumped a bag of steel dust in there... The horror...

A comment I heard from a local gundoc about those modify gearsets (I wanted to buy one).
He said they are very good but would never beat a well-done shimming. In some cases the whole set might not fit as well as separate gears in your mechbox (some mechbox are wider or narrower then other, holes might be in oh-so slightly different places, etc). Overall a very good product but if you have time/expertise/courage you might want to do it yourself. Just thought I'd add another opinion in, didn't experiment it myself yet.

I have a set of these (high torque) in a custom built Deepfire 7mm mechbox in my MP5. I'd used the older Modify modular sets and they were awesome. These are as good too. Perfect, smooth action, perfectly shimmed, and no hassles to install. I would highly recommend them.

Modify SMOOTH. It only has bracket on one side to better accommodate reinforced mechboxes.

Modify has produced a number of quality parts since they have come onto the market. When it comes to which set of gears I guess it depends on how much simplicity is worth to you. If you dont mind doing shim jobs they put out for the cheaper ones, if you cant be bothered and would just rather go with something you can drop in and not worry about get the full set with key. If you open your mechbox alot then go with the set.

Modify Smooth is the way to go, as you're guaranteed they'll fit your shell. Of course, make sure you get the proper size set (6m or 7mm)

Torque up gears are awesome. The make the trigger so much more responsive, especially when combined when a high torque motor. And it doesn't make a huge difference to the rof either. My MP5 shot 12.5 BB/ sec with the standard ratio gears. It shoots 11/sec with the torque up gears. That's a win-win situation if you ask me. I'll never use standard gears again.
