Wouldn't wearing these be considered impersonating a member of the forces?
Whenever I would wear my parents stuff when I was younger they would ALWAYS remove the can flag and the slipon, and depending on what I wore they would take other stuff off as well.

Wasn't there a big issue with reservists doing this a while back?

Yea.. the Reservists from an Ontario Infantry(?) Reserve unit went out to Paintball or Airsoft in all their issued kit. AFAIK they got their dicks slapped for doing that.

I know this isn't the correct section for WW2 stuff but I stumbled across this conversation and would just like to ask one question concerning the above conversation. I have had a reproduction WW2 BDU Canadian jacket made and I had a graphics business reproduce my dad's flashes. There are no rank insignia just the 7RCA, the CANADA, and his signal,s flash. Am I going to be upsetting people by putting these on. I am proud of my dad and the idea was to do it out of respect for him but at the same time I do not want to disrespect anyone else. I do plan on fielding the jacket, but I could do that with out the flashes. All the originals are set up in a display cabinet in my house.

It's mostly the modern stuff that get peoples goats. I personally have no problem with you wearing WW2 flashes and such. Especially with your reasons behind it.

U do know that it's next to impossible to receive current CF insignia without a Service Number (ie. if you haven't earned it, ur not gonna get it [not legally anyways]) right? Also I believe very strongly that if you haven't served, you don't even deserve to wear CADPAT OR the OD green Canadian flag on ur shoulder. Maybe I'm just being a prick but I did serve and I think that's just bastardizing one of the few sacred ideologies we have left in this country. (p.s. I think it's real sad when noone seems to give two shites about CF personnel until we're stuck up to our gooches in sand fighting jackasses that never attacked us in the first place [thanks, Bush, ya royal nutless dirtbag]).

Really? You have a problem with the CAMOUFLAGE PATTERN some folks want to wear?
And we attacked A-Stan because the A-Holes running the country (Taliban) wouldn't give up the other A-Holes that DID attack us, as in Al-Qaeda (Canadians were killed in 9-11, and the US is a member of NATO, just like Canada; an attack on one NATO member (theoretically) is an attack on ALL NATO members.
